HALLOWEEN BALL

By now, all residents should have received their invitations. Even those whose were lost in transit have had an invitation brought to them personally by one of the "lively" ghosts of the castle. Formal attire or a costume is required!

The ballroom itself is decorated for the occasion. Fog coats the floor, which has an eerie spiral design on it. Above, the ceiling seems much higher than normal, allowing for bats to fly about and webs to hang down, wafting in a slight draft that brings a slight chill to anyone in the room. The ceiling gives way to a glass window just above, which allows all those in attendance to view the vibrant lightning storm that is going on outside.

Although the room itself seems dark and spoopy, the music remains fairly upbeat, if not a bit eerie itself.

The ghosts at the door are happy to invite you in. You need only present yourself and your invitation. Have fun!

DANCE FLOOR

[Just as described, and very much inviting. One might feel almost drawn to it, even if you aren't normally a dancer. It's worth a try, at least. With most in costume or donning masks, it isn't as if you'll be totally recognizable anyway.]

[Castle was having the time of his life. He was dressed as the illustrious Mark Twain, complete with a fabulous wig and mustache of white hair, and was currently cutting a rug on the dance floor, trying- not always successfully- not to bump into anyone.]

[Kate grins as she watches Castle bounce around on the dancefloor. Eventually, she comes up behind him, putting her hands on his hips and leaning to whisper in his ear. She hopes he likes her costume.]

Care to dance, Mr. Twain?

[Castle sucks in a sharp breath at the familiar voice and turns around to grin widely at Kate.]

Indeed I would, lieutentant. I'll try not to be two left feet.

The king swung around, his hair flowing behind him a streak of light, a comet's tail. His clothing wafted around him, fluttering and then settling as he came to rest. He smiled softly at the other man, nodding his head, the diamonds in his long ears glittering. ]</sub>

[Meg is still dead set on finding Silva and bringing him to justice, but the festive gathering seems like a good opportunity to gain information. Perhaps he'll even make an unwise appearance.

For the time being, she will keep to the edges of the dance floor - somber, sober, and very focused on her goal. She's dressed in a silvery white embroidered ballgown, matching heels, large, fluffy white feathered wings, and a shimmering halo that almost seems to glow of its own accord to top it all off. Don't be fooled by the costume, she's not in a very festive mood. She's more annoyed by her costume than ever - it's insulting, to say the least. Angels of the Lord do not dress so frivolously.]

[Crowley's dressed in a particular snazzy gangster costume, perhaps harkening back to a rather infamous duo. The sight of Meg in THAT outfit, however, makes him chuckle, wandering over]

An angel? Really?

[Normally she'd have a sassy quip and a lingering once-over for him, but she simply looks at him sideways, puzzling over what he's supposed to be since she definitely doesn't get the reference. Why on earth was she friendly with this... abomination, again? She shrugs.]

It is inaccurate.

[She attempts a warm smile. She can tell that this one is a true gentleman and a kind soul. Though she has important matters to attend to, it doesn't seem that one dance will hurt. She gives a small nod and places her hand in his.]

Thanks to the castle, Emma is dressed like this, and her hair is equally as fancy. Without anyone to dance with at the moment, she's just watching everyone else dance and have fun in their costumes that they either chose -- or, like her, the castle had chosen for them -- while she casually sips on her drink that is still in her hand.

[At least Vereesa isn't the only one that isn't dancing. She meant to, but the tiny bells on her costume aren't exactly good for dancing.

She gives the other woman a bow of her head, something of a habit when one looks so regal, before realizing it's likely just a costume.]

[Yeah it's apparently the castle's idea of "funny". She would take it off and change into something more her style if she could.] Not much for dancing either? [She asks with a friendly smile. Emma is actually not sure how well dancing in a long dress and high heeled shoes would work out for her.]

[River spins and twirls, enjoying the feel of her dress swishing about her. The costume is beautiful, but River still has on her combat boots. She dances with incredible grace, not taking a partner nor bumping into anyone. The pure joy on her face shows how she is enjoying herself.]

[She's a sight to behold, and Mal smiles before he can catch it. It's rare to see her so happy, and a part of his heart feels lighter for being able to witness it. He hadn't been sure he wanted to even come to this shindig, but he's kind of happy now that he did.]

[She feels someone watching her, but it doesn't seem like a bad thing, so she ignores it for while. Then she catches a glimpse of him through the crowd, a tiny smile on his face. It makes her smile all the wider, and puts a spring in her step, making her dance even happier than before. It's not often her Captain smiles like that, so she wants to give him reason to be happy. Unwilling to let him know she's on to him yet, she skips and twirls, eyes closed and arms spread.]

[Conan pulls the brim of his tall tophat down over his eyes and fruitlessly tries one more time to remove his monocle. He is skulking around the edges of the dance floor in a child sized magician's outfit, and hoping no one he knew came over to talk to him.

The only thing he could be grateful for right now was that no one here knew the significance of this costume. No one knew that he was wearing the uniform of an annoying thief.

Of all the costumes the castle could have forced him to wear, why this one?]

[Wade, smiling, and dressed up as a cute cowgirl, has taken to a unique approach to finding a dance partner. Namely, he has a lasso, and she knows how to use it. She circles the area, twirling the rope at her side, and looks around for likely victims to literally rope onto the floor with her.

That person might even be you?]

[Blues couldn't believed he had been dragged down to another one of these. He wasn't about to stick around either, He was getting out of here and hopefully out of this ridiculous costume, or at least that was his plan until he suddenly found a rope wrapped around his chest.]

[Wade laughs and pulls herself closer to him]

Well, what do we have here?

[An unsuspecting Rise gives a small, shrill 'eep' as she's lasso'd and tugged towards the dance floor. Congratulations, Wade, you've captured a cute little maid! ... Only this one isn't blonde or as busty.

When Rise turns to face her captor, she's a bit stunned to see it's a girl - in a cute costume, too! She doesn't think she recognizes her, though...]

Ah... hey...

[What exactly is the etiquette for greeting someone who just lassoed you onto the dance floor...?]

[Felix doesn't care very much for appearances. He's a passable dancer, at least according to his own world's standards, and being conspicuous on the dance floor was nothing at all to the embarrassment of being a madman yet again.

Normally he would have sought out Ashura, but the time when he could do that was long since past. Instead his eye turns towards the crowd, and any other likely partners for a round. He won't discriminate, though he certainly has preferences, especially for those he might already be acquainted with.]

[Crowley has been enjoying wandering around the party, drinking, talking, waiting for the castle to lock them in or somesuch. Felix is a welcome sight, and the demon wanders over with a sly smirk]

Please tell me you're not being a wallflower.

[Tim's milling around by the dance floor, wearing his costume which consists of a purple wizards robe and hat, complete with a star pattern. The worst part is the white wig he's stuck in that has a massive beard attached to it. Oh well, maybe no one will notice him.]
