Who: Legolas and ANYONE
What: Wandering and Kissmas shenanigans
When: Anytime during December that's not during the Stepford plot, just say when in the header
Where: Anywhere on the grounds, in the forest or in the castle
Rating: G for now
[In the castle]
As little time as Legolas spent inside the castle, sometimes he had the urge to simply explore. It was a large place and he'd spent so much of his time in the forest and exploring already that he felt he should probably know the castle half as well. He was content to find a bottle of wine in the kitchens, something to save for another day and so that he wouldn't have to make a wish of the castle. He already trusted it very little and even less since he'd been turned into a fawn.
The library was nice as well. Plenty of things to read if he ever became bored. He already found a couple of books that seemed interesting but not enough to keep him there too long as company might.
[Castle grounds]
Legolas was most content when he was outside in the fresh air, cloak hanging over his shoulders and walking lightly over top of the snow and leaving it undisturbed. A snowball fight could be imminent if you find him. Or maybe you've found a random snow angel on the ground with no sign of anyone having been there to make them. You can't prove it was him. Or any elf.
[Forest]
The forest was where Legolas made his home. More or less. He would still very much like to see his own home again, once he returned to Middle Earth and finished what he needed to do. Something he hadn't... quite explained to his father yet. The elf was very conscious of where he stepped, careful not to irritate the frighteningly silent trees.

Eventually, she found herself in the large library, and she couldn't help but sigh in relief a bit. It may not be the same as the library in her own castle, but there was something comforting about being surrounded by the large shelves filled with countless tomes.
It doesn't take her long to realize she isn't alone here, and she makes a small noise of surprise as she rounds one shelf and finds herself only a few feet away from this stranger.
"Oh! Hello."

"Hello. I apologize for startling you."
He was only a little sorry, really, but sorry enough.

"There were very rarely other people in the library I frequented back home."

"It sounds a very lonely library, to my ears. Do you find the difference pleasant?"

With the reduction in the staff that kept the castle well-maintained, that meant that Elsa had rarely seen any of them as they went about their duties in the library. And with her papa busy with his duties and Anna off getting into trouble in the gardens and courtyards, that meant that the only person she tended to run into in the library was her mama. It was lonely.... but not all that bad. Not that she was about to say all this out loud!
"Pleasant? I would say no, but that seems too... negative. It's simply different."
no subject
"Even if you do not find the difference pleasant, I hope that you find the library itself to be so."

"Ljósálfar?" He repeated the word curiously, letting it roll over his tongue. It's not a word he knows. It did draw his attention to the other though and the elf inclined his head politely.
"Greetings to you, as well."

Loki didn't particularly like to be in the wrong. Still the man was in the library, hopefully he wasn't a particularly boorish fellow. "I suppose that would just mean there are no preconceived notions between us then and we could come to know each other on our own merits."
no subject
"I've no doubt that we will. Please, I am Legolas."
no subject
"Well met Legolas. I am Prince Loki of...well it hardly matters where I hail from I suppose."
And these days he hesitated to claim Jotunheim or Asgard. He held hatred for them both in his heart.
no subject
"Majesty." At the introduction, Legolas gave a polite bow from the waist. Not quite so deep as he would give to a king, especially his own, but respectful still.

He gestured to a small table. "If you have the time, I would be interested in hearing more about your people and the realm you hail from."
no subject
"I was raised properly, to respect those who hold a station of importance." He had no idea how matters of royal lineage were handled in his world but he knew that, in Middle Earth, mortal races groomed the sons and daughters of kings to inherit the throne.
"Loki then. I would be glad to tell you anything that you would like."
no subject
"I would be willing to tell any tales you wish to hear of the nine realms in return." Loki offered before asking. "How many different races reside in your middle earth?" He was assuming humans to start, for they always seemed to infest any and all Earths and apparently elves as well.

He couldn't really imagine places where such respect was forgotten or disregarded. It was so common in his world, treating others with proper respect, and had been for thousands of years. Through several Ages.
"There are many. The Valar, who were born of the mind of Iluvatar, and the Maiar. And the Firstborn, the race of Elves, who were followed by Men. There are also the the Eagles of Manwe and Dwarves as well of Hobbits, called Halflings by others races, shorter than Dwarves and they grown no beards. And the Ents, Treeherders, they look as though they were trees themselves. Or so I have heard, I have never met an Ent." He spoke animatedly for a moment, seeming very much like a young man despite being several hundred years old. Even so, he was still young among his own people.

He took stock of the realms he spoke up, taking the pause to calm himself. "Then there is Niflheimr a land of ice where naught much lives but giants and monsters, Muspelheim a land of fire demons called Eldjötnar, Hel the land of the Náir, wraiths, corpses and the dead and Jötunheimr land of the Jotun or Frost giants. Terrible monsters. As you can likely tell among the nine realms there are but a few worth traveling within."
He thought back to Legolas's own list. "I know of no realm in which trees would be considered denizens though they do exist in most of the realms. Eagles are most likely found on Midgard but they have not the intelligence to be considered as any more than beasts." He quirked a smile. "Though among some of the realms, the denizens could barely be considered more than that as well."
