[In the castle]

As little time as Legolas spent inside the castle, sometimes he had the urge to simply explore. It was a large place and he'd spent so much of his time in the forest and exploring already that he felt he should probably know the castle half as well. He was content to find a bottle of wine in the kitchens, something to save for another day and so that he wouldn't have to make a wish of the castle. He already trusted it very little and even less since he'd been turned into a fawn.

The library was nice as well. Plenty of things to read if he ever became bored. He already found a couple of books that seemed interesting but not enough to keep him there too long as company might.

[Castle grounds]

Legolas was most content when he was outside in the fresh air, cloak hanging over his shoulders and walking lightly over top of the snow and leaving it undisturbed. A snowball fight could be imminent if you find him. Or maybe you've found a random snow angel on the ground with no sign of anyone having been there to make them. You can't prove it was him. Or any elf.

[Forest]

The forest was where Legolas made his home. More or less. He would still very much like to see his own home again, once he returned to Middle Earth and finished what he needed to do. Something he hadn't... quite explained to his father yet. The elf was very conscious of where he stepped, careful not to irritate the frighteningly silent trees.

Loki let a real smile come out at that. It was nice to see someone treating him with the respect he deserved. "You may not be Ljósálfar but you hold to their manners." He gave a nod of respect back to the man, but as much as he enjoyed the respect, a friend or ally would be more useful to him at this time. "As much as I appreciate being addressed properly, it seems such standings matter little here. As such I take no offense to simply being called Loki if you so wish."

He gestured to a small table. "If you have the time, I would be interested in hearing more about your people and the realm you hail from."

"Which is a rarer thing among the realms I lived than it should be." Loki commented lightly as he sat down.

"I would be willing to tell any tales you wish to hear of the nine realms in return." Loki offered before asking. "How many different races reside in your middle earth?" He was assuming humans to start, for they always seemed to infest any and all Earths and apparently elves as well.

Loki listened taking note of all said and the tone it was spoken in. There was much he had never heard of before. That was not much of a surprise. Actually it was far more surprising how much did sound familiar. "Interesting. And they all live upon your Middle Earth. We have much of the same as well, but they all have their own realms. Midgard is home of the mortals, the realms of men. Asgard home of the Aesir, a warrior culture," He left it at that, doing his best to keep bitterness out of his tale, "The Vanir live on Vanaheim known for their wisdom, Álfheimr home of the Ljósálfar or what you would call elves, Svartálfaheimr land of dwarves or Dvergar as they are called and once realm of the Svartálfar, dark elves before they were wiped from existence." He took a breath to steady himself, that pain so fresh. "Vile wretches they were."

He took stock of the realms he spoke up, taking the pause to calm himself. "Then there is Niflheimr a land of ice where naught much lives but giants and monsters, Muspelheim a land of fire demons called Eldjötnar, Hel the land of the Náir, wraiths, corpses and the dead and Jötunheimr land of the Jotun or Frost giants. Terrible monsters. As you can likely tell among the nine realms there are but a few worth traveling within."

He thought back to Legolas's own list. "I know of no realm in which trees would be considered denizens though they do exist in most of the realms. Eagles are most likely found on Midgard but they have not the intelligence to be considered as any more than beasts." He quirked a smile. "Though among some of the realms, the denizens could barely be considered more than that as well."
