Alcohol, taken in sufficient quantities
Who: Felix Harrowgate and anyone
What: A new years party
When: January 1st
Where: Chimera headquarters
Rating: Pg-13 for heavy drinking, at least
The central hall of Chimera headquarters is today taken up with a pair of tables, one covered with all matter of foods from finger sandwiches and deviled eggs, to salted nuts and chocolate-covered fruits, while the other is littered with nearly every beverage one might think of - tea, coffee, milk, punch, and fruit juices. It wasn't quite the expected spread for a new year's party, but that was because the castle had done them the favor of making any liquid carry the effects of the usual party beverages. A small table near the door, however, had at some point in the day appeared, carrying liquors and champagne for those who actually preferred their alcohol to taste as such. The ghosts stood sentry to keep whatever it was the attendees wanted flowing.
Most of that is likely forgotten near the end of the day, and the arrangement of comfortable chairs in the adjoining office begin to look far more comfortable a place to sit once the room starts to spin a little. Getting air on the balcony is an option, of course, but take care not to fall off of it.
((OOC:Feel free to set your tag at any time during the evening (though really, you know we're all here for the drunk shenanigans). Please see the link above for info on the layout of the area.))

He pursed his lips, considering the other for a moment and shook his head. "No, I like silver on you," he nodded his head, like he had made some great decree, fingers caressing the fine piece of clothing and smiling.
"Yes, I think silver does you nicely. It contrasts with your hair," he said, sipping his drink and looking disappointedly at the now empty cup. "Oh dear."

Howl glanced at the source of Ashura's dismay and laughed a little. "That won't do. Shall we find you a refill?"
no subject
"I think we should," he nodded. "This is a party after all, a celebration of the new year! Having an empty cup seems an affront, a bad omen even!"
He was a bit more eloquent and breezy when he was drunk wasn't he? He leaned against Howl, continuing to hold his arm and steered him towards the drinks.
"What are you drinking, Howl?"
no subject
Howl followed along amiably enough, and from the outside, it was probably hard to tell who was leading who.
"One of the reds," he replied vaguely. He hadn't been paying much attention the last few times he'd refilled his glass, really.
no subject
"Oh, this one is from my homeland!"
He briefly wondered if Felix had picked it out, or if in his tipsy state he had wished it up on its own. Well, it didn't matter, did it? He hummed and poured them both nice measures of that stuff - a sweet red with a hint of spice to it. He clinked his glass against Howl's and giggled again, cheeks brighter pink.
"You know, I love parties where I do not have to be a host or the king. It's one of my favorite things about Paradisa!"
no subject
"I make a habit of only ever being a guest," he replied. "It's so much less work that way."
no subject
"When one is king, it is rarely an option," he sighed. "Though here it has been more so than ever. And I agree. Much less mess and worry, and not having to worry about offending the wrong people or inviting the right people and scandal."
He shook his head, lamenting, and then for a minute grew somber as he held Howl's arm.
"I know we all say we want to go home, but... I like it here. I like this sort of thing."
no subject
"Oh, I'm perfectly happy to stay, myself. Granted, of course, no one's trying to kill me." Or any of the other host of unpleasant things Paradisa seemed to come up with.
no subject
"Kill you? Who would ever want to rob us of you? I think you still owe me diagrams, anyways, so I can hardly allow you to perish," he sniffed, slipping his arm back through Howl's and squeezing lightly, more affectionate with alcohol in his system, though he had always enjoyed touch. He had been - not denied, but had to abstain - for it overly much when he took the crown, and that restraint released some when he was feeling tipsy.

He had no qualms about Ashura's proximity; it all seemed very companionable to him, and he made no effort to disengage.
no subject
"Or perhaps they will make more sense! Isn't it said that the mind is more open when you have drunk some?" he inquired. Where he had gotten the saying was anyone's guess and it was probably not true, but they were not at the party to be correct about things were they?

"Oh, I do suppose that is true," he nodded, as if was the most sage thing he had ever heard and he giggled. "Sometimes you are quite wise, Howl! I approve!"
