Alcohol, taken in sufficient quantities
Who: Felix Harrowgate and anyone
What: A new years party
When: January 1st
Where: Chimera headquarters
Rating: Pg-13 for heavy drinking, at least
The central hall of Chimera headquarters is today taken up with a pair of tables, one covered with all matter of foods from finger sandwiches and deviled eggs, to salted nuts and chocolate-covered fruits, while the other is littered with nearly every beverage one might think of - tea, coffee, milk, punch, and fruit juices. It wasn't quite the expected spread for a new year's party, but that was because the castle had done them the favor of making any liquid carry the effects of the usual party beverages. A small table near the door, however, had at some point in the day appeared, carrying liquors and champagne for those who actually preferred their alcohol to taste as such. The ghosts stood sentry to keep whatever it was the attendees wanted flowing.
Most of that is likely forgotten near the end of the day, and the arrangement of comfortable chairs in the adjoining office begin to look far more comfortable a place to sit once the room starts to spin a little. Getting air on the balcony is an option, of course, but take care not to fall off of it.
((OOC:Feel free to set your tag at any time during the evening (though really, you know we're all here for the drunk shenanigans). Please see the link above for info on the layout of the area.))

Ashura glided up to him, dressed in white, gold, and red, a glass of red wine in his hand. Of course Crowley would appear at such a function. He was Felix's friend, and Ashura was no fool - he knew of that friendship and perhaps at times had been slightly jealous of it when he and Felix stood as a couple.
"Have you announced the winner of the kissing game?"

"Why, Crowley. If I had known this is what it took to get you up here, I would have started serving drinks at Chimera meetings ages ago."

"Well, now you know what a trick you've missed."

Or maybe he remembers when he gets really confused by his book, to judge by his expression.

He wanders over and leans against a nearby wall, attempting to make enough noise as he does so to announce his presence.
"Escaped from the library, have you?"

"I'm glad you all could come..." he says, his voice dipping just slightly into a strange drawl most people never hear.

He had come dressed in a gorgeous white robe stitched with golden flowers and frolicking flames, his belt a bright red laced with gold and knotted with rope flowers and rubies carved to look like flames. He had come meant to impress.
The king walked up to Felix and took a seat on the arm of his chair.
"Who could refuse such an invitation?"

All of that refinement was likely to go missing once he got into the swing of things, but for the moment, he was going to pretend to do the guild of foppish wizards proud. Which meant grabbing a glass of wine before going to see who was about.

"You're looking splendid today," he said, which was in fact a genuine statement if not also slightly with a tinge of jealousy. He's quite tipsy by the time Howl arrives, so he isn't quite in the shape to properly examine how uncomfortably close his feelings for the man veer to his feelings for his real brother.

and it certainly was not meant for Felix. He consistently has a glass of red wine his hand, preferring that to any of the more bitter alcoholic drinks available, wandering about the party to smile and laugh with people, playing the social butterfly and falling back on graces long set into memory, never forgotten. Though, perhaps, he might be a bit feely, flirt a little.
Felix was a terrible influence.no subject
And tipsy though he might be, it was rather impossible to miss Ashura, or more precisely, Ashura's outfit. It attracted his attention long before he payed much mind to who was actually wearing it. And while there was certainly no best-dressed competition going on, he couldn't just let it go, instead waiting for an excuse to drift into the other man's general vicinity.
"You're making me feel down-right under-dressed, you know." No preamble, or pretense of a hello. Instead, he simply took another long drink from his much-refilled wine glass.

He kept to the sweeter drinks, and after a bit of stiffness began to relax, wandering some, but often happy to sit in some of the chairs and chat.

But when he stepped into the room he didn't make a spectacle of himself. Thorin simply found the drinks and proceeded to pour a large mug of ale for himself. His paranoia took hold of him then as he proceeded to sniff the drink first; testing for poison. No worries so far, so he proceeded to drink.

"You came!" he declared with much enthusiasm.

Galadriel had to admit, she was a little surprised to see him here, given the attitude the dwarf seemed to have towards magic. But she had nothing against him personally, and so she would remain civil so long as he did the same. And that included greeting him with a polite nod.
