[Open Log]

 Who: Danny Phantom and Anyone
What: Danny is practicing his ice powers, and things get a little out of control
Where: The forest just outside the castle
When: Now

It had been a while since Danny had gotten much practice with his powers in. With everything else going on, he just hadn't had the time.

Which is why he headed out away from the castle to do this. His ice powers could get a little unpredictable if he went too long without using them. Like new Ice Age unpredictable.

He stands in the middle in the clearing and breathes deep as he starts to give himself a pep talk.

"Okay Fenton, you can do this, No one else around. Remember, I control the ice. The ice does not control me."

He continues repeating the mantra under his breath as he draws out the cold energy.

And then it explodes, leaving a thin coat of ice all over the nearby trees.

Heh, I can imagine. I think that's why it's important for us ta learn how ta fight without our powers, too. Y'just never know when it might come in handy.

[David nods.]

Sorry, my father. His name was Charles Xavier, an' he was a teacher, of a sort. Took it upon himself ta run a school ta teach people like us how ta control an' use our powers for the good of all. Only he didn' really know how ta help me, no matter how hard he tried.

[David thinks back over the years, of all the different ways his father had tried to "help" him with his unstable mutation and mental health, and how spectacularly they had both failed in the endeavor. It wasn't until David had met and worked with Merzah the Mystic that he had made any forward progress at all, and that was only because for David, Merzah's commune had been the end of the line. Where all broken psychics went.]

Aye. Good idea in theory, but a reactive bloody disaster in practice. My da an' his "X-Men" reacted ta disasters after they'd already started ta happen, rather than tryin' ta prevent 'em from happenin' in the first place.

[David pinches at the bridge of his nose.]

They meant well, an' worked pretty good as a team, but...I was never part o' that. Too unstable, my da used ta say.
