[ Had it been anyone else but her mother explaining where they were and what to expect here, Arya would not have believed them. The concept was hard to understand much less swallow. But if there is someone in the world she still trusts wholeheartedly it is her mother. She would not lie to Arya. Not about something like this.

Thus after she found a moment to wander away from Catelyn, she decided to explore the castle, Needle at her side. If she was to be here for a while, she needs to know what can be found. She had always enjoyed discovering new places, talking to new people. Maybe a day to tire herself out was all she needed to sleep through the night again. ]

[Jon and Ghost are on one of their customary patrol walks around the castle grounds when he spots his baby half-sister. She looks just like he remembers, though if she spots him, she might notice he's a fair bit bigger than he was when he left for the Wall, and now sports a ragged scar under his right eye. He'll stop in his tracks, waiting for her to notice him, though Ghost is gonna come right up to her, recognizing her from so long ago. He's a fair bit bigger as well, probably as tall as she is.]

[ She startles when she first sees Ghost approach, but her face relaxes into the first true smile she's had in days when she recognizes him. ]

Ghost!

[ She hugs him around the neck as well as she's able. ] You've got so big! [ Her throat aches. Seeing Ghost reminds her of Lady and Nymeria. She hopes wherever Nymeria is now that she's safe. But if Ghost is here then Jon must be... She looks up in the direction Ghost came from and her smile widens. ]

Jon!

[ Letting go of Ghost, she races to her half-brother. ]

[Ghost bounds after Arya as she races toward Jon, and Jon gets to his knees to catch his little sister in a hug. It takes everything in him to choke back a happy sob. He'd believed Lady Catelyn when she'd said that Arya was here, but to actually see her, when the last thing he'd heard about his sister was that she was being held at Dreadfort was another matter entirely.]

So I see Lady Catelyn wasn't exaggerating when she said you'd come to the castle. It's good to see you, Arya. It's been too long.

[persequor]

[ She sniffles once against his shoulder, but only once. She refuses to cry. ]

I missed you.

[To have his sister here, in the flesh, when he hadn't seen another Stark in almost 2 years is almost more than he can bear, but he gives Arya another squeeze just to make sure.]

And I've missed you. Have you been practicing your Needlework?

[He breaks the hug so he can get a good look at her. She looks just like she did the day he left. It amazes him, to think that such a gap of time could exist, and have it not matter at all.]

[persequor]

[ She nods. ] Father found me a teacher. [ She breaks off awkwardly. After a brief pause, she raises her hand to touch the scar on his face. She can't get over how different he looks. ]

What did this?

[direwolfbastard]

I figured he might. Your mother may be convinced you could be made a lady, but our father knew better.

[He smiles.]

I was attacked, north of the Wall by an eagle controlled by a Wildling. The Wildling's dead now, but his eagle lives on. It's not as bad as it looks.

[Ignoring the fact that Orell's eagle had nearly torn his eye out, of course. He doesn't want Arya to worry for him.]

So, how long have you been here? Lady Catelyn told me yesterday that you'd arrived, but knowing you, you'll have been all over the castle and the grounds in that time.

[persequor]

Two days. [ The corners of her lips quirk up in a smile. ] I got away from Mother today. Earlier I went hunting in the woods!

[direwolfbastard]

That's good. The more you learn about Paradisa, the better.

[His eyebrow raises, and he looks at Ghost.]

Hunting? With whom? And I certainly hope you had better luck than Ghost. We've been about 2 months, and Ghost has yet to bring any prey home. I've heard there aren't any animals out in the woods.

[persequor]

Er...he said his name was Daryl? He hunts for deer, rabbit, squirrels. We found a few squirrels. I shot one down.

[direwolfbastard]

I'll have to thank him for accompanying you.

[He smiles when she mentions shooting a squirrel down. Ghost looks envious, insofar as a direwolf can look envious of anything.]

You did? Well, you've certainly had more luck than I. I haven't yet tried hunting, but Ghost always checks the forest while I patrol the grounds, and he always comes back with nothing. I've had to resort to feeding him in the castle. He doesn't like it much.

[persequor]

[ She pets Ghost with a smile. ]

He can come with me next time. We'll find deer! You'd like that, wouldn't you, Ghost?

[direwolfbastard]

[If the pleased noise he makes is any indication, Ghost would like that very much.]

Just make sure that it's actually a deer, before you shoot. A few nights ago...I had a dream about meeting a deer in the forest who could turn into a man. I'm not sure what it means, but just be careful.

[persequor]

[ She nods. ]

I will. How long have you been here?

[direwolfbastard]

Good. I've been here about a month and a half, if time passes the same here as it does back home. The seasons change more quickly, so it's hard to tell.
