The doors we open and close each day
Who: Felix Harrowgate, Geoffrey Chaucer, Miles Edgeworth & Vanyel Ashkevron
What: A dinner party and an attempt at matchmaking
When: Tonight
Where: Chimera HQ
Rating: PG-13, most likely
Felix idly wondered if life in Paradisa was beginning to be so utterly boring, that he'd found the time and motivation for this sort of thing. It wasn't entirely charity on his part, that was for certain. He liked both Miles and Vanyel, but honestly both of them needed to loosen up and since he was rather unavailable in that regard, he might as well shove them together and hope they'd discover an outlet to their mutual problems.
In the very least, it might be entertaining.
Of course, having a get together without Ashura was unusual, but his lover's sentimentality wasn't exactly what he needed in this situation. This was more...secondary seduction. Thus asking Geoffrey to assist.
Too bad he couldn't drug them, though some strong wine wasn't out of the question.
He'd had a table placed in the lobby of Chimera headquarters and laid it out with their meal. It was a little more impersonal than his own quarters, but ensured it wouldn't look amiss when he left for the evening, hopefully leaving Vanyel and Miles alone.
What happened then was out of his hands. Right now, he only had to wait.

Perhaps refreshments are in order now since we are all here?
no subject
Everything's all set, if you'd like to have a seat.
[And because he's a showoff, he waves a hand and idly lights the candles on the table]
Wine?
no subject
My God, that's amazing.
[Oh wait. Alcohol. He nods to that.]

No magic in your world?
[He was a fire starter himself, so Felix's trick was nothing special to him.]

[He smiled and uncorked the wine]

I am sure we will. What sort of wine is it?
[He was a bit unsure what to say, seeing as he knew Edgeworth somewhat well already, but hardly anything about Geoffrey.]
no subject
Champagne. But I have others for later.
no subject
'Others for later'? My, Felix, if I didn't know better, I'd say you were trying to purposefully intoxicate us. [A low chuckle] The ambience, too, seems rather romantic. Is this how you normally have dinner?
no subject
More or less. The place I used to live was rather low on natural light sources. Candlelight is something of a staple as a result. I'm afraid it's become habit.
no subject
I can always throw up some witch lights if need be.
[He sipped his champagne.]
It is a lovely drink though, thank you Felix.
no subject
He takes a drink of the champagne.]
I personally prefer candlelight. That's all we had back home, you know.
no subject
...Indeed. Now that you mention it, Geoff, I could only wonder in terms of technological advancement our respective places on the timeline. Gauging that will allow me to refrain from making references with the expectation of having them understood.
no subject
Interesting, yes. Well, we can only do our best to be understood. [Steering the conversation toward what he and Felix are attempting to do.] Well, gentlemen, shall we tell a little about ourselves? I should like to get to know you all better.
no subject
Well, I am a Herald, back home. I serve the crown and protect the country of Valdemar with the aid of my Companion. I am also a Mage, but I figured you all knew that already.
no subject
I am sure it has come up, yes. I don't make much of a secret of my occupation as a wizard, either, though I'm not sure I've mentioned to all of you that I served as part of an advising council to our Lord Protector.

Well, you're both more interesting than I. I am only a poet and a politician. I'm from 1366 on Earth.
Miles, tell us about yourself.
