[ Wearing modern clothing for once (sweatpants and a T-shirt that aren't his), Gwaine bounces a small, pink ball against the wall. Whenever it strikes something—wall, ground or his hand—lights arc inside it. A curious little toy, but Gwaine barely looks at it. He sits on the middle step, eyes unfocused. To any observer, his mind appears to be elsewhere. He has managed to recover a semblance of healthy coloring, but the bags under his eyes mark how fitful his sleep remains. He finds it difficult to concentrate on even simple tasks. Thus he misses his next catch and the ball bounces against the door behind him. It rolls away from him. ]

Well enough. Darling Colette's already thinking up baby names for any other future kids.

[impetuous]

[ Gwaine snorts. The image he has of "darling Colette" is of a young child with dolls. ]

[wilder]

[more like a teenage girl with a hardcore crush; he snorts with that] Yeah, I know.

But it's cute. Maybe even good for her. [Actually thinking about a real future. Something that Zelos isn't even sure how to think about]

[ Shielding his eyes, he looks up at the sky. ] Never thought I would, but I miss rain. Normal rain, not the one that tries to drown you.

[wilder]

Why? So you can sit and brood in it all dramatic like?

[impetuous]

[ Gwaine stares at him like he grew a second head. ]

No. Is that what you do in the rain?

[wilder]

Heh, nah. Be terrible for my hair.

[impetuous]

Uh-huh. No, no brooding. I have better things to do with my time. It rained a lot back home. A little too much. But so long without so much as a drizzle is weird.

[wilder]

Huh. Guess you have a point.

But what can you do? Drizzles probably don't equate into this world's view of paradise. [But snow does. Bastard world]

[ Snow is awesome, you douche. ]

If this is paradise, I think I might prefer hell.

[wilder]

What? You're not a fan of this place?

[impetuous]

Depends on the day. Sometimes it's decent, other times I'd rather go into the Dead Zone.

[wilder]

I don't think the Dead Zone is much better.

It isn't. But I'd be back to what I know. Who knows? Might even be a tavern somewhere in there.

[he snorts] I doubt it.

Don't ruin an old man's dream. I'm already feeling my age.

Sorry, I've been doing reading. Alcohol isn't easily accessed out there.

I knew reading was bad for you.

Wouldn't it be worse to go out there and search forever for what's not there?

Only if you're looking for something specific. I'd just want to know the land better.

Yeah. I'm hoping another expedition happens soon. I'm getting restless.
