Who: Gwaine and you
What: Random encounters
When: Saturday morning
Where: Near the gallery in town
[ Wearing modern clothing for once (sweatpants and a T-shirt that aren't his), Gwaine bounces a small, pink ball against the wall. Whenever it strikes something—wall, ground or his hand—lights arc inside it. A curious little toy, but Gwaine barely looks at it. He sits on the middle step, eyes unfocused. To any observer, his mind appears to be elsewhere. He has managed to recover a semblance of healthy coloring, but the bags under his eyes mark how fitful his sleep remains. He finds it difficult to concentrate on even simple tasks. Thus he misses his next catch and the ball bounces against the door behind him. It rolls away from him. ]

"I'm sorry"?!

Not much of an apology, but I'll take it.

The gallery would deliver it sometime during the week and Katherine would no doubt spend hours trying to hang it in the right spot. Leaving the gallery she plans on getting a cup of tea from a nearby shop, but she spots the familiar swagger of someone she hasn't seen since he was needing to be rescued by her.
She'd been home and returned since then... she'd decided things since then. For a moment she considers leaving him be for the day, allowing him a bit of privacy and his own pattern of whatever he was doing.
After a moment she realizes that she doesn't want to wait and she moves to pick her pace up a bit and try to catch up with him. After a bit, she finds herself nearly in step with him, so she smiles and calls to him:]
Gwaine, I thought that was you.
no subject
Katherine. I haven't seen you in a while.
no subject
Apparently, saving someone takes a bit out of a person. I'm glad to see your hair is the appropriate length. [There's a soft bit of teasing there, mostly a placement to gauge where his mood is.]
no subject
Actually I've been thinking of cutting it shorter.
no subject
With the weather getting warmer, I'm sure that thought'll cross your mind more than a few times.

If asked she would deny with every fiber of her being that she was worried about him. If asked she would deny that he stirred something within her, opening the flood gates she can no longer close. The Lady Morgana's heart is closed off to all, no one not even Gwaine could open it again. (yet he did) If asked she would deny that he managed to get underneath her skin and tear down her defenses.
(he simply cannot stop driving her mad, can he?)
Straightening she twirls the ball between her fingers, feet carrying her the few extra paces closer. ]
You look better. [ "Well" would have been too much of a stretch. ]
no subject
Stubbornness he mastered; perseverance slipped from him.
He watches her approach. Courtesy takes over and he stands. ]
The wonders of fresh air.
no subject
Expecting him to be consistent would be hypocritical of her.
Finally regarding him she holds out the ball for him to take. ]
A shame it has done nothing to help your throwing arm.
no subject
You can't judge me on one bad toss. Don't the thousands of excellent prior throws count for something?
