[From a boy like Tsuna, you wouldn't imagine the nightmares to be as hellish as other resident's were. To some extent, this is true; however, his nightmare does not revolve around petty fears. These nightmares are not littered by events of the past, but are shaped by apprehension for the future. The nightmares have differing situations, but there is one feeling that rings strongly through them all.

[You've come onto a battlefield, and there is blood strewn everywhere, and the ground is peppered with dead bodies. Most are so mutilated, you can't even tell who they are; the other faces probably hold little relevance to you.

What does hold relevance is that the battle is still going-- if it could even be called that. There's Tsuna, flying around in hyper will form, and then there's a cloaked figure chasing after him, speed right on par with Tsuna's. After watching for a moment, it becomes easy to tell what's going on. Tsuna's running, injured, desperately trying to get some ground, and the untouched figure-- Jager-- is toying with him. One of the chains comes out from the cloak and whips out, grabbing Tsuna's leg. He yells out as it yanks him back viciously, slamming him into the ground, hard enough to make a dust cloud big enough to obscure Tsuna's body.

Perhaps you should stop popcorn.gif-ing and do something about this.]

[ Genis hasn't a clue where he is, but he quickly picks up on his surroundings that there's a battle going on. It's easy to tell when someone's killing innocents- and this cloaked figure is most definitely doing so.

Conditioned to fights, he drags out his kendama, chanting a spell under his breath... intending to get a surprise hit on the man. He focuses his mana... ]

....Pancake time! Stalagmite!

[ Slabs of rock begin to shoot up from the ground underneath the figure, intending to spear him. ]

[The spikes of rock all go through the cloak, like he's not even there. Slowly, he turns his head towards Genis. Meanwhile, the dust cloud clears, and Tsuna can be seen propping himself up, coughing. There was a fire alight on his forehead before, but it's gone now. He looks up at the figure, then follows his gaze.

He becomes frightened, and yells out to Genis.]

Get away from here!

[pocketmage]

[ Genis stands his ground, frowning- he was a ghost? Then maybe a light element spell...?

Tsuna's yell makes him snap his head to look at him, and he shakes his head before focusing back on the cloaked figure, beginning to quickly bounce his kendama again, narrowing his eyes, staring warily as he started summoning more mana... if he could try and get this spell in before he got there... ]

[The figure is slowly starting to drift towards you. He sure does seem to be taking his precious time; you'll have plenty of time to fire off that spell.

Tsuna calls out again.]

No!

[pocketmage]

[ The slow drifting makes Genis a tad more confident, and he squeezes his eyes shut for a moment to make sure he's completely concentrated... ]

I call upon the power of the holy blade... Prism Sword!

[ he calls, swords of light descending upon the figure. ]

[The figure easily weaves through the falling swords, like it's dancing through a group crowded people. And once that's done, he drifts closer, accelerating. There's no time for Genis to cast a spell now.

But maybe there doesn't have to be.]

Stop!

[Tsuna had scrambled over to the two and placed himself between Genis and the figure, spreading his arms out. He's clearly wounded, and he's breathing heavy, but his stance is firm in front of the boy.

It stops just in front of him, looking down at Tsuna blankly.]

[ Genis was about to try and defend himself when Tsuna suddenly scrambled between them. ]

Wha... don't do that! You're hurt! [ he protests, hands moving to Tsuna's shoulders, trying to push him aside. ] It'll kill you!

He's not your target! I am! Just leave him be.

[At the pushing, he remains firm and shoves back, looking at Genis.]

You're not involved in this. Go, while you still can!

[The figure moves back and forth impatiently.]

[ He frowns at Tsuna. Honestly, he barely knows him, but he's not heartless- he can't just leave him for dead. ]

I'm not going anywhere. What kind of creature is he? I can gather his weakness from that.

[Tsuna becomes desperate.]

You don't understand! He doesn't have any weakness. You need to go. You need to go so you can warn the others, and get away from here as far as possible!

[Tsuna's eyes widen when a chain starts to come from the phantom, and as a last-ditch effort, he shoves Genis hard, to put as much distance between them as possible.

And then the figure lashes out with his chain, wrapping it around Tsuna's neck. The boy yelps and struggles as he's lifted into the air, hands grasping at the chain.]

No- wait! [ Genis grunts when he's shoved, sliding roughly on the ground, scraping his palms a little as he tries to stop himself.

His eyes widen when he sees Tsuna being lifted by the chain, grabbing for his kendama, immediately casting a quick fire spell at the phantom's end of the chain in an attempt to melt it. ]

Fireball!

[The phantom moves again, easily avoiding the attack. It has no interest in Genis; only in Tsuna, who coughs raggedly, looking down at the half-elf.

Finally, he remembers a name to the voice.]

Genis, please, go. Don't... let my friends' deaths... [He takes a deep, shuddery breath, or as much as the chain will allow him.] Don't let... my death be in vain.

I'm not going anywhere!

[ It seems that Tsuna didn't get the memo that he wouldn't simply let a friend sacrifice themselves.

So he finds himself casting a much stronger spell, making sure that it'll all be concentrated to one spot- he doesn't want to hurt Tsuna- and tries again to melt the chain. ]

EXPLOSION!

[psych0p0mps]

[Whoa Tsuna do you realize that your head is on fire - oh wait, maybe that guy beating him up is the bigger problem here. Alright, she may not know what's going on here, but she's not gonna let some nookstain beat up her friend! Aradia charges up her time powers and darts toward the mysterious figure at inhuman speed, then unleashes a hard temporal stop on the guy. It worked on Bec Noir, after all, so she has no reason to think it won't work on this guy.]

Tsuna! Go!

[It would work-- were this guy not a thing of nightmares.

As it is, he simply turns and looks at Aradia. Tsuna, already looking pretty beaten up, coughs and looks at Aradia. So much for his head being on fire.

Damn, he looks scared, though.]

Aradia-san! No! Not again...!

[psych0p0mps]

[Bwut? That did nothing. Aradia is rather alarmed, since the last thing that was immune to her powers was Slenderman, but - alright, that's not going to work. She equips her razor wire gauntlets and snaps out a six-foot whip from each of them.

No way is she ditching Tsuna now, he looks like fuckin' shit. But to get to him, she's gonna have to go through the thing of nightmares.]

Yeah, you! Why'd you get in line twice when they handed out ugly?

He's too powerful, Aradia-san! You need to get away!

[The taunt seems to work; the figure produces two chains of his own, obviously waiting for Aradia to strike first.

Of course, Tsuna needs to get in the way. He cries desperately at the phantom.]

No, stop! I'm your enemy, not her!

[Yeah, she's willing to believe the whole "too powerful" thing. Not a lot of things can resist a full-powered time stop. And fighting against impossible odds for the one-in-a-million chance of saving a friend... that's pretty heroic. If she dies here, it's a real death.

Heh. Better not die, then.]

Nice hat, though. I think I will keep it.

[And with that, she charges, snapping her whips outward at the bad dude. They have a bit of natural coil to them, perfect for wrapping a limb or a throat and cutting in. She's going for his wrists.]

[Where the heck are his wrists, though? Does he even have them? In either case, the phantom moves quickly, whipping upward and slamming his own chain against hers.

Hope you weren't planning on using them much, because their length just essentially got cut in half when the contact of the chains caused Aradia's to shatter at that spot.

Another chain rises above him, preparing to strike, but suddenly, it recoils, and he takes off.

Where'd Tsuna go, anyway?

Oh, of course. He's back in hyper will mode, and he's taken off like a banshee to bait the monster, and it's in hot pursuit. He calls back.]

Aradia! Go! Warn the others!

[well he has hands it seemed logical- whoops there go her whips, and there goes her opponent. Meanwhile Tsuna's off like a bullet again, like he got a second wind, or some sort of "dying will," you might say.

Others? She wasn't aware there were any others present. Actually, she's not sure where this is taking place. But she's gotta help Tsuna, so she takes off flying after the cloaked figure. Her whips weren't fully extended when it broke them, fortunately, so she just snaps out another five feet and they're pretty much good to go again.]

Not without you!

[APPARENTLY THEY ARE AND YOU SHOULD GET TO THEM RIGHT NOW?????

Also, damnit Aradia, you're making this really difficult for him. He grunts, then turns around mid-flight and fires off a blast of flames. The figure easily avoids them, causing them to shoot towards Aradia as the creature sends a chain out and grabs Tsuna by the ankle.]

[Uh oh flames! Aradia tries to dodge, but doesn't quite manage it. She lets out a surprised yell as the attack shoots around her. What a realistic ride! It actually looks and feels like she's getting badly burnt! Ow! I mean, neat!]

AHAHA we can drop some of them if you'd prefer!

[And while she's distracted by the flames? Yep, that's right, the cloaked figure's going to use Tsuna as makeshift mace and slam the poor boy right into her.]

[OH SHIT SON yeah the impact catches her totally off guard and she goes sprawling away end over end, ending up facedown several meters away. She groans in pain and attempts to get up, but the wind has been quite knocked out of her and it's slow going.]
