It's been hours, and the woman still hasn't come back. Zeiram is still out there, somewhere, in the darkness, and you're still trapped in the empty cordon. What are you going to do?

[The blinding light that accompanied your arrival in the cordon returns. But it's not the woman who shows up -- instead, there's a small electronic device lying on the ground.

Do you pick it up?]

[Yup, sure does. She'll just turn it over in her hands and try to find a button or a switch or... something...]

[Here, have a (human) friend. She's noticing that thing!]

[Cass turns, to let her new friend see the weird contraption from a better angle.]

[She'll peek, but not opt to take it out of the other's hand. She certainly doesn't want to mess anything up! Or be rude.]

I hope it's something that will solve all this mess! That would be great...

[While they're holding it, a green light comes on and that lady's voice comes out of the device... somewhere. There doesn't seem to be any kind of speaker.]

I am back in your dimension. The fight with that creature knocked something out of alignment on my equipment, so I won't be able to come help you for awhile. And I can't bring you back without knowing your coordinates.

[The silver case is right where Iria said it would be. But it seems like Zeiram had the same idea, because it's standing right next to it. Like it's been waiting for you.]

[Well, wasn't this just perfect? If not or Zeiram's previous displays of general invulnerability, Vicious would have been tempted to march right up and get the case, monsters bedamned. But that was very likely a bad idea, so he stopped short of actually approaching and instead started sizing up their surroundings, looking for some way to trap this thing or lure it away. Without damaging the case.]

We're screwed if we try to take that thing head on. What do you think? Find a way to slow it down?

[Zeiram is definitely watching them, but it's not approaching. Just standing next to the case and waiting. Does it even know what the case is? Is it that intelligent?]

[Vicious is keeping an eye on it, in case it suddenly makes some move to destroy the case. It seemed pretty clear they needed what it contained if they wanted out of this place]

We need to draw it away. Slowing it down once it's away would not be a bad plan.

Well, drawing it away is easily enough. We just need to make it think it wants something more than it wants that.
