For some silly reason, Kenzi actually thought she might be able to best Kitt at video games. KITT! Former computer? It was going to be a bloodbath.

She was serious. Despite that smile, she was absolutely serious. For a moment he was almost afraid of her. Afraid and. Something else that he couldn't quite put a name to.

Offering to bargain would only get him in even more trouble. "But I wish you wouldn't?" Hopeful.

"Mmm, maybe I'll make you drink instead." She moved in and pressed a quick kiss to the corner of his lips, then bounced off him and reached for the wine bottle, topping up her mug and tipping back half of it in a swallow.

He might even consider that a fair compromise. He breathed a sigh of relief, pushing himself up with his elbows to sit.

"How much do you drink, Kenzi?"

"As often as I can," she answered, smiling cheerfully. "It dims the angry edges of the world. Wanna join me?"

Uh huh. "Do I have to?"

"Do you want to?" She wagged her mug at him.

"Not really." But it was part of the deal.

"C'mon, Kittypoo, don't be such a stick-shift in the mud."

He threw a dubious look in her general direction before acquiescing. "Let me have the mug." May as well get the two drinks over with. That way he wouldn't have to worry about it later.

Beaming, she filled it back up before she handed it over. No way was he getting off light. She started drinking from the bottle. "Way to go. You might actually have fun..."

Full to the brim. "This is your idea of one drink?" He took a hesitant sip, making a face at the burn and the bitterness. "I have plenty of fun."

"Mmhmm." She watched the wince, grinning and preparing for an amused evening. "You do not. You brood. Brooding's not fun, K-man."

"I think brooding's fun?" No point in denying the truth. He wrapped both hands around the mug and took another drink, slightly larger this time, a whole mouthful. Somehow he didn't think it was the kind of wine served at the tastings with palate cleansers in between. He'd drink it, prove to her that he could, and be done with it.

He'd drink two, and she'd be watching him. "It's not. You need to get your priorities straight, Kitto." He had this look on his face like most upper class types did when they looked at her, and it made her want to make him wallow a bit.

"And I suppose you're the person to do that for me?" He had half a smile when he said it, gently teasing her, holding up the mug for emphasis. He may have had that look on his face, and he may have been thinking it about the wine, but it didn't extend to her.

"Maybe. Maybe not. We'll see, won't we?" She said this primly, taking another drink from the bottle - totally destroying the image.

Yeah, okay, maybe a little. The wine was all right - not fantastic, but drinkable, once he got past the harsh burn as it went down. Another large mouthful got him almost halfway through the mug.

"Good boy," she said, patting his knee. "I think cards are out of the question for now, but you wanna watch a movie?"

He nodded, possibly too quickly. Ooh, that was sort of fun. "Sure. A movie." Another gulp. As he drank more, the burn lessened, mellowing out into a sort of spreading warmth. That was kind of fun, too. Feeling his fingers tingling. Different, in a very unique sort of way. He couldn't remember if Mr Miles even mentioned this sensation, and he was quite the connoisseur of fine alcohol. Maybe that was the difference? The thought struck him as ludicrously funny.

"Okee dokee. Let's see what we got." She crawled over to the tv, looking in the stand beside it for movies. "We got... ooh. We could watch Christine," she said back over her shoulder with a smirk. "Or maybe The Fast and the Furious."

"Hmmm?" More drinking, the warmth filtering through to his toes now. It really wasn't so bad once you got used to it. He even sort of liked it. It was bitterly fruity. Like the gum, but different.

He shrugged. "Either?" He was good.

"Fast and the Furious seems more your type. Don't want to give you nightmares." She slipped the movie in, then went and turned off the lights before jumping back onto the couch. "You need a refill yet, Kitt-Katt?"

Oooh, no nightmares. Nightmares wouldn't be good. He didn't want nightmares. One more mouthful would do him before a refill, so he guzzled it down and held out the mug for more. "Mmmhmm."

"Not so bad is it?" She refilled his mug, starting the movie and taking a long sip from the bottle. She wondered what he'd think of the movie, since it was basically all about hot cars and driving like a maniac...

"'S good." Kind of yummy, after a fashion. Whatever that meant. He took another drink, smirking to himself. Yay movie! He didn't usually watch movies with anyone else. Once in a great while he and Michael would settle in at a drive-in, but those were getting harder to find. This was much nicer. Watching a movie about fast cars was right up his alley, and he couldn't fault the company.
