Three true things await discovery,
Darkness overspreading,
A commorancy underground:
And the Moon is no dream—

Those who enter Dairine’s dream will find themselves on the dark side of the moon. Of course, unless they are well-versed in lunar surfaces, it’ll just look like grey, rocky terrain. Surprisingly, you can breathe just fine despite not having any protective suits. The air is chilly, but not the freezing cold that was normal in outer space.

Above you is a night sky unaltered by smog or atmosphere, the deep velvety darkness of space. Beautiful, isn’t it? However, those that look closely will begin to notice a patch of sky far darker than the rest. As you continue to watch, the darkness will spread out, blocking out stars and galaxies. Before long, whole sections of space appear to be swallowed up by a void of nothingness. Yet make no mistake, this darkness is not nothing. It stirs and heaves as if it were a living thing… or a bunch of little ones, like a giant mass of insects.

That darkness is alive. And somehow, you know it's not friendly.

Her dreams start out fairly tame, but then again so many nightmares do. Don't worry. Things will pick up soon enough.))

[ Duke blinks at the sound, stopping. ]

Am... not used to... the oddness, of this walking... [ And he can't see where he's going, but that's a given. ]

Ah... Less gravity will do that to ya. Don't worry -- you'll get used to it. [She gives him a light pat on the back in encouragement.]

[Actually, she probably does not realize that bit. Dairine and Duke haven't yet to discuss his blindness, (I think?) and even if they have, she won't remember it whilst in dreamland.]

[ Duke forgets who knows and who doesn't know and generally assumes that people who don't know will figure it out fairly quickly. ]

Gravity... is the force that is responsible for things falling, and direction of down... [ among other things. ]

That's the one. [Obviously, but she doesn't see the inquiry as odd right now. There are more important things on her mind.

She looks at him curiously.] Are you here for the intervention?

The intervention to stop the Pullulus from spreading. That is why you're here, right?

[ That.... is completely new to him. ]

If..I can be of aid, then perhaps correct. [ He has no idea where here is, to be completely honest. ]

[She nods, seeing nothing odd about this situation at all. If he was up here, clearly he was a fellow wizard, right? No one else walked on the moon exposed like this.]

Good. Because we'll need all the help we can get.

[Dairine turns around, heading towards a nearby crater at a steady pace. Visually, there looks to be a bubble cresting over the crater. Duke might not be able to see it, but he might sense the power of a large spell. While she moves, she addresses Duke.]

Have you been debriefed on our current situation yet?

[ Duke... attempts to match how she moves. Its harder, here, because of balance issues and having no idea where he is, and an odd... lack of much sound. ]

...Have not. [ Oh. That is an interesting thing - are they using the shape of the area they're in to help gather the magic needed. ]

Really? One of the Seniors should have told you. [Odd. It was unlike the Seniors to miss someone... then again, Dairine couldn't really blame them. They must be up to their necks in work, trying to get all the younger wizards prepared for the task ahead. Not to mention the additional strain caused by the Pullulus.]

Oh well, I’ll give you the run-down. See those dark spots above us?

Duke tilts his head up... a little, then blinks in her general direction. ]

... Sight can be described as... poor.

Wha-? [She looks back at him, confused, when it clicks.]

Oh. Sorry about that. [She coughs to hide the embarrasment from her social blunder.] Well, the area above us is the site of a Pullulus growth. Visually, the Pullulus looks like a darker spot than the rest of space. But you might be able to feel it's presence as well.

[ Duke shrugs it off. He didn't exactly tell anyone. ]

... Possible. Sounds to be something that should not feel as normal dark?

[ He's going to try to feel that then. 'Up'? ]

Yup. It's about as far from normal dark as you can get.

[The feeling cannot be touched, but it weighs on the mind nonetheless. A oppressive sensation of mindless-conscience, hostile and revolting.]

[ Duke carefully bundles all of the magic he'd been searching about with back to himself, definitely not liking that feeling. ]
