Three true things await discovery,
Darkness overspreading,
A commorancy underground:
And the Moon is no dream—

Those who enter Dairine’s dream will find themselves on the dark side of the moon. Of course, unless they are well-versed in lunar surfaces, it’ll just look like grey, rocky terrain. Surprisingly, you can breathe just fine despite not having any protective suits. The air is chilly, but not the freezing cold that was normal in outer space.

Above you is a night sky unaltered by smog or atmosphere, the deep velvety darkness of space. Beautiful, isn’t it? However, those that look closely will begin to notice a patch of sky far darker than the rest. As you continue to watch, the darkness will spread out, blocking out stars and galaxies. Before long, whole sections of space appear to be swallowed up by a void of nothingness. Yet make no mistake, this darkness is not nothing. It stirs and heaves as if it were a living thing… or a bunch of little ones, like a giant mass of insects.

That darkness is alive. And somehow, you know it's not friendly.

Her dreams start out fairly tame, but then again so many nightmares do. Don't worry. Things will pick up soon enough.))

[Katniss scowled, she couldn't see a damned thing but she had a feeling she'd want to get out of here. Soon. So she looked for a vantage point - someplace to get up and get out of the immediate fire ... and where she wouldn't get trampled by escaping tourists.]

[Katniss might be able to find a better spot in the next store over. It's at a corner, so it should have a clearer view of the floor.

She should probably move quickly though. Through the crowd, Katniss might notice a warty amphibian, which looks something like a toad and a lizard combined, though it walks similar to a human. It's carrying a large gun with one arm. The other holds the leash to a skinny little dinosaur... closer to a deinonychus than anything else. With its face to the floor, the dinosaur drags its owner through the crowd. Looks like it's sniffing something... or someone, out.]

[Katniss noted the store, keeping low, she dashed over to the store, and immediately took cover behind some ... weird alien foiliage. Didn't matter, it kept her hidden. She breathed through her nose, watching the lizard with the gun and the lizard-dog, grey eyes narrowed.]

[The pair navigates through the frantic crowd with ease... mostly because people don't want to mess with an armed alien.

Suddenly the deinonychus thrashes its tail and looks straight at where Katniss is hiding. Uh oh.]

[Somehow, Katniss knew they'd be looking for her. So she didn't waste any time getting fancy. She put an arrow into her bow, pulling it back, and sending it flying towards the larger dinosaur with the gun. Right through the eye.]

[The alien lets out a high fluting scream as it falls. Its knobby fingers loosen their hold on the leash, and the deinonychus slips free, rushing towards Katniss on quick, powerful legs. Careful; it's got sharp teeth and is willing to use them!]

[Katniss knows what to do with dangerous predators. She already has another arrow notched - and as the creature rushes her she breaths out so she can send the arrow right through the creature's mouth and through it's brain.]

[A pitiful mewling sound comes from the creature before it crashes to the ground, dead.

Regrettably, the screams seem to have attracted the bug-eyed mercenary's friends. Three more amphibious aliens hurry onto the scene, each heavily armed with blaster guns. One runs over to check their prone ally's vitals while the others hold back, scanning the area.]

[Katniss ducked back down, keeping to her corner, eying the creatures carefully. She wouldn't make a move unless she knew she had the upper hand -- or if she had no choice.]

[After confirming their comrade's death, the one alien pulls out the arrow, looking it over. What sort of outdated weaponry is this?

It calls out a couple of hoots to its partners, who walk over to check it out. Hmmm... A way to ID the attacker? They haven't noticed Katniss yet, but their knobby fingers are still on the trigger.]

[She watches them eye the arrow, with their fingers on the trigger, and suddenly her mind clicks onto an idea. She looks around for something for her to hit, something that would make a loud noise.]
