[Log] You Never Had the Head For All That Bigger Picture Stuff

[When arriving in this dream, you'll find yourself in various parts of Paradisa whether it be the castle or the grounds. And boy, do things sure look different. The town is nothing more but rubble, with the farmlands surrounding it razed and salted. There is no sign of any towns person still being alive. The castle still stands, but it seems to lack the life it once had.]

[As for the residents? Well, they got a worst fate than the townspeople. If you come across most residents, there's a good amount of changes. First noticeable thing is they now have wings (some like fairies while most have typical white bird angel wings). They all seem to have a red crystal embedded on them. But worst of all? They are completely devoid of any personality or free thought. Their eyes seem dead and they only seem to respond to the wishes of the one who caused this]

[If you're lucky, you might come across someone who hasn't succumb to this fate - they seem to have taken to hiding in the forest or the mountains. If not? Well...good luck.]

[OOC: ~~TLDR TIME YAY!~~ A joint dream where essentially Mithos Yggdrasil showed up in paradisa and took things over! Pretty much meaning he destroyed the town and turned every resident into zombie-angels. The Symphonian cast (including Mithos cough) will be all over this, but anyone is free to participate in this dream too! If you wish to do so, we got a number of options if you want to more!

OPTION A - Returning Resident/ just wandered into this room.
You just wandered into this or have no idea what's going on. Try not to get killed by angels.

OPTION B - Survivor.
You remember this and don't know it's just a dream. You remember when Mithos Yggdrasil started turning residents into angels, razing the town and claiming himself god. You were among one of the few lucky ones who escaped, who are currently in hiding and either want to find a way to take down Mithos- or find a way out into the Dead Zone where his hand has not reached yet. Maybe you're hiding in the rubble of the city, or the mountains or the forest. Try not to get killed by angels.

OPTION C - Former Angel.
You remember this and don't know it's just a dream. You remember when Mithos Yggdrasil started turning residents into angels, razing the town and claiming himself god. But you were unlucky, and were among the residents who got turned into the mindless drones. You remember how you were forced to kill all the townspeople, help in turning fellow residents into mindless drones like you. But you got lucky in the way that someone saved you, put a keycrest (fancy piece of metal) on your crystal so you regained your mind. You're still an angel- you still don't eat, sleep and maybe even your sense of touch is diminished or gone- but at least you have a mind and soul again. Plus the enhanced senses, strength and reflexes are really nice too. Try not to get caught again.

OPTION D - Angel
You remember this and don't know it's just a dream. You remember when Mithos Yggdrasil started turning residents into angels, when he razed the town, when he claimed himself God of a now lifeless land. But you were unlucky, and were among the residents who got turned into the mindless drones. You have enhanced senses, strength, reflexes and wings. On the flipside, you don't eat, sleep, feel and talking is optional too (since many angels have no voices). You feel nothing. All you desire to do is follow Mithos and his great plan. Have fun.

[ Yay fun manly times! Genis is just gonna bathe... and wish he could cut his hair, gosh this is long and even messier than it used to be. ]

[Well your bro here does have knives so yeah. But eventually he'll be coming back, carrying a freshly dead rabbit by it's feet with his nose wrinkled. There are times like this he doesn't miss eating]

I hope you still remember how to cook. My ability's gotten pretty rusty.

[ By the time Zelos returns, Genis would be dressed in his shorts and dark navy shirt, wringing out his hair. ]

Yeah, of course. We'll need a fire... [ he mumbles to himself, before moving into the trees to quickly stoop over, gathering as many as he could, almost stumbling over himself in the process. He was hungry, okay.

He also made sure to cut down a few larger and longer tree branches with magic, bringing them with him in one arm.

As he was returning, he almost asked if Zelos had cooking utensils on him... before remembering he didn't eat. ]

You have knives or something sharp, right?

[He meanwhile moves to sit on the ground, still holding up the rabbit with a bit of disgust. He'll look over at Genis when he speaks]

Yeah, of course.

[With his free hand, he'll pull out a dagger from his belt and hold it out for Genis]

Thanks.

[ Genis quickly plants the two larger, longer branches so that they cross, and accepts the dagger. He holds out his other hand for the rabbit. ]

[Handing Thumper right over! He'll...not be helping and instead opts to watch. It's been awhile since he's seen cooking okay]

[ He takes the rabbit and sits, placing it between his spread legs and begins to focus on skinning it, to remove the fur. ]

[That's right die Thumper die. That's what you get for being part of that terrible Bambi movie. Mwhahaha]

[-- I mean yep. Still just watching boredly]

[ And thus Thumper was skinned. Once that was done, Genis chopped the rabbit up, into smaller chunks- they would take less time to cook- and once that's over, he uses the knife to carefully make indents on the two crossing sticks, spearing the rabbit chops on another stick and carefully placing it in the indents.

He then moves the rest of the sticks into a pile underneath the support, making sure that the flames wouldn't lick the supporting sticks before picking up his kendama and casting a weak Fireball on the pile.

A gentle flame rose, crackling under the chunks, and Genis looked over his handiwork with an accomplished smile. ]

There. Kind of basic, but it's not like we have cooking utensils or anything.

Clever and talented as always.

[A snort]

And yeah, sorry, I stopped feeling the need to bring any along.

[ The compliment makes him look to Zelos, bewildered, but he looks back to the rabbit, slowly cooking. It's really basic, as he just said- but he finds a bit of confidence in that, smiling, so the redhead couldn't see him. ]

It's fine. Not like you would need them.

Hm.

[he falls back into silence. Isn't it so nice to see that this experience has made Zelos so much more talkative? ]

[ Genis doesn't break the silence, for a little bit, as he sits down, heaving a relieved sigh.

But as he watches the rabbit cook, he eventually speaks again: ]

Is there any way for you to get your taste back, or...?

[he pauses before he speaks]

Maybe with a better keycrest. Resistance's got a good handle on basic ones, but without someone with the skills of dwarven craftsmanship...[he trails off, for reasons Genis can probably guess why.]

[But instead of leaving it hanging, since he doesn't want Genis picking it up again, he continues with a shrug]

But whatever. I've gotten used to it. And I can't deny that it comes in handy, not needing to stop and eat or anything.

[ Yeah, Genis gets why he trailed off there, and gives a little nod.

Lloyd.

They needed to get him back. ]

I guess it must be handy- but... maybe, we could have a better one made. [ A pause, before he spits it out anyway: ] When we get Lloyd back.

[ Odd, isn't it? How resolute he is, about that topic. He can't let Lloyd go off and do this, only to be so guilt-ridden after. They have to retrieve him sooner or later... maybe after they got their mindless companions back, first. ]

...Yeah.

[There's a long pause, a trouble frown is stitched across his face. That's right, Genis is Lloyd's best friend. He knew that long before he ever became friends with Lloyd. It was something he never really felt jealous of, Genis was better best friend material than he ever could be.]

[And as that best friend, the kid deserved the right to know the truth. As much as Zelos would be happy to never speak of it for the rest of his days]

If you want to save Lloyd....there's something you should know.

But you can't tell anyone else, okay? No one can know about this, not without Lloyd's say so.

Got it?

[ Genis finds himself glancing over to Zelos during the pause, the troubled expression worrying him.

His words make him blink, a little surprised. Something he should know about Lloyd?

Zelos knew something?

He wasn't jealous at all about this development, if only because he was insanely curious- and it seemed really important.

So with a nod, he replied: ]

I promise I won't.

[Yeah this isn't the sort of development you should ever be jealous of. Never ever ever. He pauses and takes a deep breath before speaking. He sort of wishes he had liquid courage to do this- but aw well, not like he'd be able to taste it anyway]

...Mithos. He's, well you know, he's not really the forgiving sort. That's why he went after all of us. To make us pay.

And Lloyd....Lloyd got it the worst.

[he swallows, then braves a look at Genis]

Mithos brainwashed him or something. He blackmailed Lloyd into joining his side, and has been twisting his mind ever since! Making him think that his way is the only way, that this hell's some kind of utopia! It's not really a keycrest problem like everyone thinks. It's...worse.

[his fist clenches oh so tightly] The bastard's making him fall like he did.

[ Genis simply listens... the story sending an unpleasant shiver up his spine.

At some point in the middle, he rests his chin on his knees, his look glazing over. Lloyd was... brainwashed.

It wasn't just a simple problem, then, was it? He snaps back to reality after a few moments, looking down at the ground. ]

Just like Mithos.

[ he whispered, his knees supporting his forehead, his face buried for a moment. Things would be much more difficult, wouldn't they? ]

We have to get him as soon as possible, then! [ he raises his voice slightly, in a little desperation, as he looks up at Zelos. ] Before it gets worse...!

[His arms cross, he glances away]

Easier said than done, Squirt.

Even if we managed to grab him, he might just fight us the whole time. And you know how strong Lloyd is. [Zelos was strong, but he knew Lloyd was stronger. Even back when he was the only angel between them, Lloyd always surpassed him. Sure, the time since Mithos had made him stronger as he stopped rejecting his angel skills so much...but he'd imagine the gap between Lloyd and him had done nothing but widened.] He wouldn't listen to us that way anyway. He'd be too busy thinking we kidnapped him and we're the crazy ones.

[...Okay so Zelos could admit he was crazy, but the point still stands. ]

[ He hears and understands the logic, but he doesn't want to. Genis knows Lloyd is their strongest companion- no one could quite compare. ]

I know...

[ He looks away, as well. Pause. ]

But then what do we do?

[ His voice is smaller, a bit more vulnerable. ]

[a pause. He can hear that vulnerability in his tone and it hurts. He wants the answers. He wants to know what to do, or at least have the same spirit as Lloyd to keep trudging along.]

[But he's not Lloyd. He could never even compare. So with a heavy heart he admits-]

...I'm still working on that.

[ Genis nods. ]

Yeah...

And what about Colette? Even if we gave her a Key Crest and it started to work, it wouldn't have anything in it to stop her illness.

[ He's starting to get a bit worried, now, noticeably. ]

I mean, we can probably get to the others, but... maybe we could come up with a plan after?

I don't know...

[Zelos thinks about it. Zircon, a Mana Fragment and a Mana Leaf Herb. All those are needed to make a Rune crest, right? No way that'd be native to this world...though maybe you could ask the castle for it, if wishes still worked.]

[But even then, you'd need someone who could actually make it. Someone skilled...]

[Oh. He should probably say something to Genis. ]

We'll figure something out.

Now be careful before you burn your food. I don't want to smell charred meat all night.

[ Zelos' long pause made Genis quiet, and he stares mindlessly at the fire... until he replies.

The mention of the food makes him look at it, a bit surprised, quickly moving to remove the rabbit- it was hardly burnt, but a little on the edges. ]

R-Right.

[ He takes the rabbit and takes a careful bite of it, before swallowing that quickly and taking a much larger bite. He was starving! ]
