[It took quite a bit of work on short notice, but the castle cemetery has undergone a remarkable transformation this evening. Every grave is decked out in brightly colored flowers, especially marigolds. As night falls, the place will start to glow by candlelight as well. There's a primary table with food laid out, where you can put your potluck dishes, and another small one with some craft supplies. The music playing is upbeat, like it's encouraging you to dance! This is meant to be a happy occasion, after all.]

[Don't mind the young disheveled-looking man who walks by and almost jumps when he turns and sees Alice's face.]

Ah!

[And he lets out a sigh and calms down when he realizes there is nothing to freak out about.]

Goodness, all these faces...you're really good at that, huh?

[ Alice puts up a finger as if to silence him while her other hand finishes up her handiwork, which requires all her concentration of course. She keeps this up for more than would be polite, but who really cares about such things, right?

She puts down the brush and smiles sweetly at him after. ]

You were saying?

[An unsure sort of shrug.]

Oh, well, erm, I was saying that you're talented! At painting your face, I mean. Even if it is rather spooky...but still, it looks good!

[ Alice smirks. Cute. ]

Talented? That's an interesting word choice.

[thehangedrose]

How come? You are able to paint your own face with such precision, really...if that doesn't show talent, I don't know what does!

[nihilo]

Some things take practice, others take talent. [ She taps the paintbrush stick against her lips. ]

Hasn't anyone told you that?

[thehangedrose]

I know that! But to have that little spark that gets that started, that's talent! I mean, I could practice doing that and still not do it as well as you do...

[nihilo]

You haven't tried.

[ She offers him a new brush! ]

[thehangedrose]

[He takes it, hesitantly.]

I'm not sure whether I want to paint a skull on my face, though. That would be a bit too creepy, heh...

Perhaps you should step over your comfort zones.

[thehangedrose]

[A gulp.]

C-can't I just paint a flower instead?

[nihilo]

[ Alice smirks. ]

No.

[thehangedrose]

[Any regular person would realize that Alice is not forcing him to do anything he doesn't want, but Garry is not any regular person, and he shrinks away from Alice's stare, looking down at the paint splatters on the table.]

Well...I guess this is the Day of the Dead and all. Have to get in on the festivities somehow, no matter how creepy they are...

[ She grins and pushes the palette with all the greys and whites and black to him. ]

I'll even stay and watch.

[He pulls it towards him, brush in hand, before nervously glancing back up at her.]

Watch...? Oh, dear. Um.

[Stay calm man, it's just a face paint job.]

Y-you wouldn't happen to have a mirror, would you?

[ Alice rather likes this response to her presence, picking up the table mirror she used to set it in front of him. ]

Ah, thanks.

[He'll start with the black, of course, dabbing it in and putting it up to his face as he takes the mirror up in his own hand. As he starts, he'll glance over at her, eyebrow raising.]

So...do you do this often, or?

[nihilo]

Not often enough.

[thehangedrose]

[THAT'S a weird answer.]

Erm. So you enjoy it a lot, I'm guessing?

[ Alice takes a smaller brush and outlines the flowers on her face meticulously. ]

Do you?

I haven't done it much, so...I don't know if I can say yes or no to that, honestly.

[He's almost done with the base, only covering the side of his face that is visible- the last thing he wants is to get his hair matted with paint.]

[nihilo]

[ Alice turns to inspect his work. ]

You're only dead on one side.

[thehangedrose]

[The way she said that made him glance to the side uncomfortably- "dead" on one side, huh? What a way to say that...]

Well, it's not like I can do the other side, my hair would just get in the way!

[This being said even though it's like the easiest thing in the world to push your hair back, come on.]

[ Which is exactly what Alice will try to do, reaching out a hand to push his hair back. What are rules of personal space even? ]

Um, m-miss-!

[He flushes due to the invasion of his personal space, and by the time he tries to reach up to prevent her from doing that, he's too late, and there's nothing but his face where his fingers are. Surprise, surprise, he has another eye, but if one looks closely it's a bit cloudy compared to the other one.]

That's...you could've allowed me, you know...
