What: Borgia-Mills Saturnalia party, basically, that party!

The garlands and wreaths of leaves decorating the ballroom sure look similar. Almost Christmas trees. Pagan origins for an otherwise religious holiday. This occasion has no purpose, however, aside from merriment, freedom and lots and lots of eating!

The cooks Henry gathered are welcome to place their creations on a long table set to one side, while most of the ballroom is left clear for dancing of any form. Most of the sofas have been pushed against the walls as refuge for tired feet. The wine flows freely, with uncountable goblets here and there!

Oh, one more thing, beware the nutcrackers.

Lucrezia grins and makes to stand, taking Steph's hand along with her. "Is she fond enough of this Stephanie Brown to want to dance with her?"

[secondchances]

"Definitely. Even if she has no idea what kind of dancing is going to happen."

Like hell if she's comfortable with Strange Renaissance Dances, but she could roll with whatever.

[heloise]

"But Lucrezia Borgia would rather let Stephanie choose, her friend has a penchant for dances that abide by no rules."

[secondchances]

"There are a few with rules that she knows," she smiles, reaching over to take Lucrezia's hands and lead her to the open space. A waltz is about as much as she really knows. It makes her remember Julian, and how surprised she had been to find out he was a good dancer--but she shoves any and all memories out of her mind before she can miss them.

"Do I have to be all proper and ask the lady for a dance?"

Lucrezia comes with, her mask in one hand and Steph in the other. Fitting, she thinks, the way she wants only to shut out the rest of the world and show her face only to those she can still trust. "You would never have to, Stephanie. I would always dance with you."

[secondchances]

"I'll still play the role of the gentleman, though. I promise to do my best when it comes to not stepping on your toes."

She grins, taking Lucrezia's hand and putting it on her shoulder. She keeps the other hand in her own, and puts her free one on her waist.

"I think it goes something like this. We might be making our own dance."

[heloise]

Lucrezia lets her position both their hands, only adjusting her feet so she can stand closer.

"My toes are not so precious that they cannot be sacrificed to learn a new dance with a dear friend," she watches her own hand on Steph's shoulder, drumming her fingers twice. "Why don't we, make our own dance?"

you make me wanna dance, you make me wanna move, you make me wanna make a new dance up!

Steph smiles, making a show of looking thoughtful.

"I guess we could, but it would need a name."

and you know the moves, 'cause it's our dance!

[heloise]

Lucrezia starts to guide Steph to a slow circle, making up this new dance as they think up a name.

"Should it be beautiful?"

[secondchances]

"I think that's inevitable, given the creators. It's just a question of how beautiful."

Just hopefully not too complicated. Steph likes this circle thing going on.

[heloise]

"Dances are named after its moves, are they not? Or origin," she flicks her wrist so she can twirl once! "Paradisa?"

[secondchances]

"Don't ask me, I don't even know more than five names of dances," she says with a confused smile, and then a twirl! Twirls are easy to do. "But if we're making up our own dance, no reason we can't make up all the other rules, right?"

[heloise]

Yay twirls, Lucrezia holds on loosely to Steph's hand so she can make up some moves too. "We can take turns to make them. What would be your first rule?"

[secondchances]

"First rule is smiling is a must. You can't do this dance with anything less than a smile!"

To demonstrate, Steph grins.

[heloise]

Lucrezia chuckles, all toothy, before biting it back and feigning indignance. "It is unladylike, surely, to show the world all your teeth?"

[secondchances]

"Not if you have nice teeth. You're not saying I have ugly teeth, are you?"

Steph runs her tongue over her front teeth, very ladylike. She's proud of her teeth, and despite numerous punches and kicks to the face, she has all of them.

[heloise]

It is written in history that Lucrezia has even, white teeth, but that was the pre-orthodental era. Come to think of it, most of the castle residents have good teeth (and are mostly aTtractive!). She hums with concern and peers to look at Steph's.

"Should we flaunt our lovely teeth to the world instead and earn their envy?"

[secondchances]

She nods. "But of course, my dear Lucrezia," she says, sounding very regal. "They can be jealous of all our fun and all our beautiful teeth."

[heloise]

Stephanie keeps on sending her on gigglefits. They better be good for her heart. "They should be envious of our everything, and of our happiness most of all."

Only now she steps away to start making this new dance, making an arc with her hand to mark the beginning and waiting for Steph to follow suit or respond.

[secondchances]

It's a little intimidating, how gracefully Lucrezia can move on the dance floor. But she does her best to mirror her, and then does a flirty little turn to circle her.

"Definitely. Right now, I'm the happiest girl in all of Paradisa."

[heloise]

Then it's Lucrezia's turn to follow Steph's little turn so they can circle each other instead. She puts out a hand between them to hold Steph's.

"The happiest? One would sooner say that of a lover, not a friend."

[secondchances]

She lets the circling go on.

"Last I checked, I don't have a lover. I do very much love my friend and spending time with her, though, so I don't see why I can't say that."

It's too easy to be sweet and fluffy with Lucrezia.

[heloise]

Lucrezia is made of sweet things and fluff at least she would like to be. She steps closer and places her hand on Steph's waist instead, all smiles. The first rule, was it not?

"Shall I find you one? Would that make you happier?

[secondchances]

Stephanie rolls her eyes. But it's with a smile, at least.

"Please, no. This girl is fine being lover-less. No loss," she says, but she's sure this is often going to be a topic of discussion (and teasing) as long as she spends time with Renaissance people. "Way too much trouble."

[heloise]

That's because the Renaissance people the castle has gathered all agree that sex is good for you and the reverse is bad. How do you stand it, Steph.

"Perhaps once, when I could keep you happy for long enough, you will no longer be afraid."
