[Steve shakes his head, eyes trained on the ground. He's still a little embarrassed by his behavior back then, but this isn't about that so looks up again and smiles.]

It's not like that, Faith. I like you. I always have. I might not get you, but you knew that already.

[He laughs.] I'm not very good pretending in case this isn't hint enough already.

[She laughs, too, shaking her head a bit.]

It's alright, I've never been good at accepting help... or friends.

[She rubs her hands together, pressing her thumb into her palm as she feels that worry build up.] I'm glad that we're friends, though. I mean, I don't have many.

I... [This is usually the part where he denies it, but that would be insulting to everyone involved.] Well you know what they say, quality over quantity.

[He looks down from the cookies in hand to her.] Thank you, Faith. Not just for the cookies. You got me through some things I would have had to tough out alone. Not that I can't handle it, but it was nice having someone there to help. You're a good friend to have too.

[She shrugs it off, just looking away from him as he compliments her. She's always been slightly uncomfortable with people giving her an honest position on her being a good person.]
