IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.

Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.

It's going to be a long week.

[Steph's startled by the sudden company, and it takes her a moment to realize who it is. It's that guy from the tunnels, and the expedition--not a child, but tiny enough to pass as one. She hastily sniffs and rubs her eyes with her sleeve. Ugh, embarrassing.]

This... this is the cutest bunny I've ever seen in my entire life...

[ That's one way to start a conversation. He manages a bright smile before moving his hand to scratch its neck. ]

My friend is a rabbit who speaks. I might give that honor to her instead.

I think it'd be awkward to pet a talking bunny. [She manages a smile as well, though not nearly as bright.

... she tries to discreetly wipe her nose with her sleeve. Eww.]

[ He isn't sure how good an idea it would be to ask why she's crying... maybe later. ]

If you give her vegetables, she might let you.

Have you tried this out yourself? I don't want to be a weirdo.

[Not that crying in a petting zoo is normal or anything.]

[ She's making a joke! That's progress surely. ]

I have. I could find her if you should like. She's quite a character.

[ He gapes at her for a moment. ]

[She laughs, though her eyes are still watering.]

I hope you realize how crazy that sounds, but it's not like I doubt you or anything, and I'm being totally sincere when I say that.

[She's met talking ponies and dogs before, so it's all good.]

[ His laughter is muted, if only because he isn't sure if she's going to break into tears next. You never know! ]

Well, some of us found magical babies for the day, do we not?

Oh, yeah. Can't forget that. [She wipes at the corner of her eye.]

Did you? Or are you just visiting?

[bronwe]

[ Oh. Oh no. ]

Just visiting. The castle felt empty.

It's weird, this year. Usually they come to us, not the other way around.

Is it preferable this way?

I don't know. Haven't been here long enough to tell, yet.

[So far? Pretty crappy. Not that the setting had anything to do with it.]

[ He keeps quiet to watch her for a moment. ]

Oh, right. Stephanie. Steph, if you like shortening names. [He seems nice enough.]

And you're...?

[bronwe]

Frodo. Frodo Baggins.

I would call you Steph if you don't mind.

Nice to finally get a name, Frodo. [Smiles. Steph is fine.]

I'd shake your hand, but... [Motions to her face. Snot and tears smeared all over :( probably on her hands, too. SORRY, BUNNY...]

[ He chuckles. That's cool. ]

Were the rabbits too charming for your heart to take?

I wish. Let's just say that this whole baby thing makes it very easy to have arguments with your significant other.

The rabbits are very charming, though. It's a lot to take in...

[ He wouldn't know. He doesn't think he could afford a significant other, but his smile stays. ]

I've always wondered how anyone manages to raise children and still keep their good sense.

Seriously. I have no idea. I think all parents are a little bonkers, you know?

[bronwe]

[ He laughs and shrugs. ]

Don't you think all of us are?

Yeah, but parents are a special kind of crazy.
