Yasashii nihon no joochan yo...

Who: Rise Kujikawa and OPEN
What: A possibly familiar little girl, barely old enough for grade school, is wandering around the castle unsupervised. What do?
When: Today!
Where: The castle grounds, lobby, Four Seasons beach, Music Room - any of Rise's favorite places!
Rating: PG-ish?

[Well, it's been a few days now. Rise hoped she'd only be this small for her birthday and the castle would give up on its latest little prank. But after a day or two of going back and forth between sticking close to a convenient friend (new or otherwise) or sulking alone somewhere, it's getting really boring not going out when she wants just because she's not as big as she should be. She's even been a fairy before, and that never stopped her!

... Though, at least she could fly then. Having to run around everywhere makes the castle somehow seem even bigger now, against all logic. And no matter where she goes, everything looks different.

Before she knows it, a quick trip outside of her own room has become a full-blown exploration of the entire castle. From the hallways, to the grounds, to some of her favorite rooms to visit. She's not exactly alone, but not everyone notices such a small child running around.

... Of course, someone probably will sooner or later.]

[Rise's not sure what to think of the emphasis Chie put on calling her "Rise-chan". Maybe she just imagined it? That's what people always call her anyway...]

Uh, sure!

[Smiling, she runs over towards Chie's beach chair. Exercise - at least Chie's kind - isn't really her thing, but relaxing on the beach with a friend sounds fun! Even if she's less than half Chie's size right now...

She even wishes up her own melon soda! ... Which the castle gives to her in a sippy cup with a cartoon fox on it. She does not look pleased.]

[Chie noticed Rise's expression when she got the sippy cup. She couldn't help but crack a smile]

What's the matter? It's a cute cup.

[Rise is scowling at you, Chie. Scowling. And it does not look adorable or silly at all!]

Stupid castle keeps doing that. I'm not a little kid or anything!

[But her pouting and whining certainly fit the bill...]

[Chie grins. She's just so adorable! And she looks so much like the child she misses right now, Shiori. It's weird that Shiori was just calling Rise "mama" last week then she turned into this...]

Want to trade? You get the tall glass, and I'll drink with that.

[Rise lets out an irritated little sigh...]

It's fine...

[No it's not, but she's not going to take the chance of embarrassing herself thoroughly while trying to grip that glass with her tiny hands.

She plops down onto the edge of Chie's beach chair (because why not? there's plenty of room) and absently takes a sip. At least it is melon soda and not something embarrassingly kiddy in the cup...]

Hehe, if you say so! You want to go swimming? You can sit on my shoulders!

[She's just teasin'. Meanwhile, she stood up and unzips her usual green track jacket, and voila, she's wearing a two-piece bikini underneath.]

[Rise just kinda... sits there and pouts for a while. (She really sucks at this whole "not acting like a kid" thing...)

Really, though, the teasing was bad enough, but then Chie just had to show off the bikini. Admittedly, it is cute and shows off her figure nicely. Rise would normally approve. But right now, it just makes her feel even more like a little kid next to Chie. Which is not a feeling she's used to.

Clearly someone either needs to pester this girl some more or try and cheer her up... or maybe both at once...]

Come on. It must suck to suddenly shrink to that size, but if you're in a castle loss, you might as well go all the way with it!

[She's serious when she said that, despite her almost grinning smile. She wants to make the loss less annoying for her friend]

[The word "shrink" reminds Rise of the almost-month she spent as a fairy. At least she's not that small again...

But really... "go all the way with it"? That's such a Chie thing to say.]

What do you mean...?

[She sounds legitimately confused... and curious.]

Y'know, enjoy it! There's things you could do that you normally can't when you're in your normal size.

[... Yeah, sorry Chie. You're talking to the girl that was shy and easily bullied and had no friends last time she was this small. She doesn't have any idea what she could do now that she couldn't normally... or if she does, she's not making the connection.]

Like what?

[What else is there about being this small except waiting to grow up?]

[This is harder than she thought]

Uh... Maybe fit in a sand castle?

Is that all...?

[At least Rise's more curious about Chie's weird ideas than she is annoyed at her own situation, but it's only so much improvement.

Still, it does get a quiet laugh out of her.]

You're kinda weird, Chie-chan.

[She means it fondly! But she's still not getting what you're going on about, Chie...]

[Chie sighs]

Alright, come on.

[Chie picks up the little Rise, who was surprisingly light, carrying the little girl on her arms]

We're going to the water!

Wha~? Hey!

[She knew she was small now, but Chie just swept her up like she was nothing! She was not prepared for this turn of events!]

Chie-chan!!!

[She's so stunned, she doesn't struggle. Not that it'd do any good if she did. Chie's obviously determined to take her wherever it is she's taking her!

She can't even form coherent thoughts to ask what Chie's planning!]

Don't worry, I got you!

[Chie quickened her pace and laughed as the waves hit her bare legs]

Whoo!

[She does, too. Whether it's just because of her size or not, Chie's grip on her is gentle but strong. She probably couldn't escape if she tried.]

Where are you... Chie-chan?!!!

[She shouts through a panicky, nervous almost-laugh. Her mind is still desperately trying to catch up past the moment Chie picked her up! But racing through the air at that speed does start a little twinge of a thrill... like an amusement park ride...]

[Chie laughs as she got chest-deep into the water]

It's fine, like I said I got you!

[Rise let out a surprised shriek as the water splashed over her. Then it kind of just shifted into a little half-giggle. She's still a bit bemused at Chie's sudden playfulness, but the mad dash for the water was kind of like riding a waterslide in an amusement park.

She keeps giggling too, if a bit tentatively. What the heck is Chie trying to do?]

[Chie wished for a flotation device for Rise, so she wouldn't have to carry her around. She carefully lets Rise go and have her inside the ring]

See it's not so bad, isn't it?

[Rise panics and flails a bit as Chie starts to let her go, before she realizes she's floating safely on the water. Bewildered, she looks down and notices the pink floral swim ring. Blushing, she lets out a huff.]

I can swim, you know!

[Never mind that she was freaking out mere seconds ago, and she's so small that this isn't really shallow water to her at all. And it wouldn't be the first thing she's tried since the castle did this to her that she failed to do as well as when she was her normal self.

But on the plus side, she's free of Chie's grip now! Suddenly, with a devious smirk, she reaches her tiny hands into the water and - SPLASH! Sends a (tiny) wave of water splashing over Chie! There, revenge!]

Aah! Ha-ha!

[Chie just laughed when rise splashed some water at her face. In which, of course, she retaliated]

Aha! Get some!

[Rise yelps and tries to turn away, but that just ends with soaking wet hair covering her face. But she's actually laughing now.]

No fair!!!

[Chie can make much bigger splashes than she can!]

There are no rules in heeeelllll!! [Chie just splashed Rise some more, all while giggling at Rise's tiny splashes]

[With another giggleshriek, Rise seems to decide the splash war is futile and scrambles to swim out of range!]
