In the middle of the woods, one could hear rustling bushes and some branches snapping as a female figure in the dark is running with a torch in hand.

"Sam! Reyes! Jonah!" the woman called out. "Shit... What is this place? I could have sworn we got out of that island..."

She looks battered, bruised, and armed with two mismatched handguns on her thigh holsters. She looks like she's been through hell and back, with dried blood, torn clothes and a thousand-yard stare. She doesn't even care about possible wolves, with what she's been through, wolves don't scare her anymore. She just wants to find her friends.

And after a minute of walking, she could see already the exterior of the castle from a distance. Not sure about what's in there, so she grabbed her gun and headed towards the castle grounds...

"So you're stranded here? How?"

"We all are. Its the castle. It takes people from other worlds and traps them here."

[lara_the_explorer]

"You make it sounds like it's alive. Is it magical too?"

[deductiongeek]

"Lots of the people here say that, but I don't believe it. Magi isn't real. If someone says something is magic, is just means that no one understands it yet."

[lara_the_explorer]

Lara couldn't help but crack a smile there.

"You sound like me"

Before Yamatai at least. But she's not gonna say she's a believer now, that would just start a long discussion, and she just wants to find the others.

"What's your name?"

"Conan Edogawa. I'm from Beika City in Japan."

[lara_the_explorer]

"It's a pleasure. I'm Lara. I was just in Yokohama. Well, we were on our way back to Yokohama before I got dragged in here..."

[deductiongeek]

"Really? What were you doing in Yokohama?"

[lara_the_explorer]

"We went to a research expedition to the Dragon's Triangle, and we docked Yokohama"

[deductiongeek]

"The Dragon's Triangle? What is that? Is that where you got hurt?"

[lara_the_explorer]

"Yes. It's quite the long story" One she doesn't really want to talk about, especially to a kid. "I should start looking for my friends. Have you seen anyone pass through here before me?"

[deductiongeek]

"New people arrive at the castle all the time. What are their names?"

[lara_the_explorer]

"Sam, Reyes, and Jonah. Do you need a picture too?"

[deductiongeek]

"It would help! I've never heard of anyone named Jonah or Reyes here, but there have been several named Sam."

[lara_the_explorer]

"Okay" Lara was hopeful that at least Sam is here. She took Sam's video camera from her pocket and showed Conan a still photograph of the crew. She pointed at Sam, Reyes, and Jonah in the group photo. She didn't make any mention of the other three.

"Sorry, I don't recognize any of them. But there's still a possibility that they could be pulled here later."

[lara_the_explorer]

"We were all together when I got pulled here. Could it be that they're out in the woods somewhere as well?"

[deductiongeek]

"Its possible! But impossible to tell. If they were pulled here as well they should have journals, so you might be able to contact them that way."

[lara_the_explorer]

"Journals? What do you mean?"

[deductiongeek]

"There should have been a small book next to you when you woke up here."

[lara_the_explorer]

"All I have is my father's journal with me..." Lara checks her pockets, and right on top of her father's journal is another hardbound book. She took it out to check. "This wasn't here before"

[deductiongeek]

"Everyone who arrives here receives one. They're used for communication."

[lara_the_explorer]

Lara opened the book to see how it works. Her eyes widened at the sight of letters forming out of thin air, especially the words Conan just said a second ago.

"Amazing... How does this work?"

[deductiongeek]

"No one has figured that out yet."

He was still annoyed by that.

[lara_the_explorer]

"That is frustrating..." Lara sighed. But if it works, it works right?

"Sam? Are you there?" Lara said at the journal. She cringed a little. Talking into a book is just so weird...
