隅田川花火大会 SUMIDAGAWA FIREWORKS FESTIVAL
Who: Everybody!
What: Tokyo Day Three: fireworks festival
When: Thursday, 18/July -- evening
Where: Hotel or Sumida
Rating: pretty
Tonight, in the sky, there are fireworks.
You can see them from the hotel window, but for a better look -- so suggests the helpful concierge at the desk -- you'll want to head to Sumida, where locals and tourists alike gather on the edge of the Sumida River.

[Technically the festival is supposed to happen on the last Saturday of July, but whatever! It's Paradisa. For more information on the festival please visit here, and you can watch YouTube videos here.]

At least the locals are giving him a wide berth as he picks his way through the crowd toward the food vendors. The advantages of being huge.]

It's hard to miss Brock in a crowd, and so she heads off in his direction, having to jog a little to catch up. When did she get so slow? Eventually, she makes it next to him, trying to settle into a more casual stroll but not quite managing it. It's a lot easier to do this when she's slowing herself down for HIM]
Hey.

Seeing Maladict not all pale and creepy is always something that takes a moment to get used to, but Brock glances over sidelong once he hears her.]
Hey. What's up?

You mean aside from enforced humanity and shitty coffee?

But hey, look on the bright side -- they're, like, selling booze in the streets. That's something, right?
no subject
[She arches a brow a little] I suppose. I can't say I've done a lot of drinking. [But she is human now, her vampiric 'I do not drink...wine' constitution isn't working against her, here]
Might have to give that a try.

Hell, yeah. I'm sure they got Sapporo and whatever, but I don't know if you're into beer. [He manages not to say 'you look like a wine person to me' because he values his life, but still...]

There was always a lot of beer back home. As a soldier, I got a glass for free, too. I just gave it to Igor. [She gives a shrug] I suppose I'll just have to try it and find out.

[So he'll steer them over to a booth selling beer...]

[Once they're at a booth, he goes about ordering them some beers. He speaks English though, because fuck he sounds dumb when he speaks anything but. Luckily the vendor understands him well enough, and hands over two bottles.]
Alright. Here we go.

It's so crowded that it takes Brock a second to figure out he's being followed. Once he does, his shoulders square a little -- a habit -- and he quickly glances over his shoulder.]
Oh. Hey.

[She's quiet, probably too quiet in this crowd, and catches up to him so that she can take hold of his hand.]

Are you feeling better?

[Because... lol.]
I don't know if we're gonna get a good spot.

[Lo and behold, there seem to be blanket placeholders with names on them. Must be a big thing.]
