Dragon problems

While the students are gathered in the dining hall, or at least, are supposed to be, Felix and some of the Hogwarts staff assemble in the
Staff room to discuss their current dilemma in the shape of a wild dragon roaming the grounds. It's some kind of miracle that nobody has been killed or maimed yet, and if the term is to continue uninterrupted, it should probably be dealt with swiftly.

Standing up with his back against a desk, Professor Harrowgate signals the assembled staff.

"If this is everyone, we may as well start. The problem is simple enough to state. I can't even begin to wonder where a wild dragon came from, but it has to go. We need to come up with a plan to capture it and enact said plan as soon as possible. Ideally tonight, before the Quidditch finals are scheduled to take place. Any suggestions?"

He'll read Gideon's note, frowning a little. Yeah, that would be helpful except... "Especially underwater, no less." He wasn't even sure the merpeople HAD a writing system honestly.

And then he'll turn to look at Martel, looking very confused at the question. He'd expect it out of a muggle-born, but seriously? You're staff- the groundskeeper!

"No, of course you can't talk to a dragon. I mean, I suppose we could make it chase someone on a broom to lure it away, but to where would be a problem."

He's not even judging Martel as he had similar thoughts, but he's just learning to keep quiet on his ignorance and toss out things that he at least knows will work.

Like the following.

"We could lure it to the Quidditch pitch, have it as an obstacle for the final match of the year." And yes, he's totally serious about that.

"Reborn. No."

Didn't they already talk about this?

"I don't know, it'd give the kids more of a challenge. They might not even horrifically injure one another with a dragon to do it for them this time"

"Exactly, it builds up team cooperation!"

A sigh and she's rubbing the bridge of her nose. Why do people think this is a good idea? Though reborn is just reborn, she should expect this by now.

"If they don't die first from the dragon killing them."

"As far as I am aware, it also hasn't bothered anyone yet. ... Anyone who didn't bother it first."

Of course, Duke wouldn't know if the thing was eyeing him or the creatures he was cleaning up after.

"Deeper into the forest doesn't sound of a problem to me. If we talk to the more friendly denziens, they could offer a place to land to hide from the dragon, and then a way back."

"I applaud a peaceful solution, Professor Pantarai, but it seems a temporary solution at best. If it's decided the lake is plentiful hunting grounds, I'm sure it will return, and we'll have to repeat the process. Perhaps we could Obliviate the creature and then lead it off, so it forgets we're here. It's risky in the long term."

But maybe they could figure out a better plan in the interim. Find some professionals to take the thing back to it's home.
