Who: Legolas and anyone.
What: NEW ARRIVAL ALERT! Oh, and exploring!
When: Oct. 25th.
Where: Just pick a place and we'll make it work. Love to anyone that finds the hippy elf in the forest.
Rating: G!
One moment he had been with Gimli, Aragorn and Gandalf, hearing messages passed to Gandalf from the Lady Galadriel. He'd been armed and ready to go to Edoras, content with the knowledge that Merry and Pippin were safe. Safer. And now he was...
Well, Legolas wasn't entirely sure where he was. He'd seen, in passing, the buildings of Men though never had he entered them. He'd been content enough to remain out of doors or in the forest. It reminded him very much of what he'd seen though. And this only raised the question of how he came to be here. Standing and doing nothing wouldn't answer his questions though, this he knew. Only by exploring could he find what he wanted to know and hopefully that would include a way back. It wasn't long after he started to explore that he realized that he was now also unarmed. His quiver was still on his back but it was empty of arrows and he no longer carried his knife or the bow that the Lady of the Golden Wood had gifted him. Guilt tore at him over the loss of such a precious gift. He knew that he could craft himself another bow but it would never compare to those of the Galadhrim.
Garbed in grey, most will find him, a cloak about his shoulders and unassuming. He was cautious, of course, because who knew if this was some trick of Saruman or of the Enemy.

And they were cute, once Legolas got past the strange coloring of the Flareon. With an animal so affectionate, how could he judge by the color?
"Very little, thus far. I imagine I'll have plenty of time though."

"Well, as I said, I knew you before. I doubt your scent has changed over much to them," he said softly, moving to take a seat on a nearby bench in a whisper of silk and the clink of jewels.
Agni had dropped to his back for a belly rub, Bacon following suite in the way of a pup following it's parent.
"Well, I hope so. It means you shall be here longer, though I know that sounds particularly selfish on my part."

Legolas rubbed softly at their bellies, looking for a spot that would make their legs kick before looking back to Ashura. Spoiled little animals.
"Were we good friends then?"
no subject
"I suppose that depends on how you 'define' good, but we shared wine and laughter, so I would say so," he nodded his head, reaching out with a bare foot (with manicured toes, of course) and prodding gently at Agni's side. The Flareon wriggled and yipped, batting at Ashura's foot in a cat-like manner that just made Ashura smile.
"I was saddened, when you left."
no subject
"I am sorry for that."

The king shook his head, the jewels in his hair sparkling like stars in a night sky.
"It is not your fault, Legolas. None of us really have control of that." To an extent. Lately, many had been wandering out to the Dead Zone and simply.. not come back. He wasn't sure if that was the way out or not, or merely a way to severe themselves from the Castle. But he had not the heart to do it... or perhaps it was the courage.
He reached down, picking up Agni and setting him in his lap, stroking the silky, yellow fur.
"But if you truly feel the need to assuage guilt, you could always have a drink with me some time."
no subject
"I would be glad to share a drink with you. Any time that you wish for company, you need only ask it of me."
no subject
"A dangerous offer, my friend. I enjoy company, you see," he smiled warmly, fingers moving through the yellow fur of his pet, finding the motion soothing for himself.
And frankly, he was in need of it. Since Felix and he had parted ways, he liked having people over to fill the void Felix had left in their chambers, now fitted for one instead of two. Still, he felt the loss, and it was all the more acute for having to see him almost daily.
"I will take you up on it, of course."
no subject
"Then my company will be yours."
no subject
"Gladly accepted," he smiled brighter now, a thing that did not fit his somewhat melancholy colored robes. "Do you have any questions I could answer for you, in my gratitude? I know this place is confusing upon arrival."
no subject
"If I am honest, I'm not entirely sure what I might ask."
no subject
"Anything and everything," he waved his hand airily, a rather royal gesture that, like a king schooling their child or a trusted courtier in the ways of politics so subtle as to be nonexistent. He did not mean it as offense, but it was hard to erase habits, even after four years - because what was four years to nearly three hundred?
"I shall try and answer them all."
no subject
"What is this castle like? The people here?"
Those were good questions right? Right. Definitely.
no subject
Good questions, albeit a bit difficult. He cocked his head, considering them, fingers twisting through Agni's hair idly, wrapping looser strands about his fingers. He would need to groom him soon with his winter coat coming in...
"The Castle is... capricious. At times it gives us small pleasures and moments to blush in remembrance of, and at other times... it calls us to great sorrow. It toys with us, dances us around on strings we cannot see and cannot cut. I suppose, then, this Castle is more accurately a dollhouse, and we the dolls. As for the people, though, well, I find most of them sound company. We have had a rash of disappearances, lately, but those that remain are solid folk. They are people - likes, dislikes, habits, strengths, and weaknesses. There are fights, friendships and romances. We live our lives as much as we can here."
