Search Party Log
Who: Whichever idiots want to go out into the woods and figure out what killed April
What: Search Party!
When: Thursday
Where: The Lobby/The Grounds/The Forest
Rating: PG-13 otherwise tag your threads
She wouldn't normally care, but with the castle shifting to resemble anything remotely like her world, Meg was on edge. When she found April - or what was left of her - decorating the castle halls, that concern switched to full blown alert mode. The demon spent the night and half the morning poking around the castle, looking for whatever had done it on her own to no avail. By noon, she had circled back around to the lobby and stood there glaring at the pile of weapons, wondering what the hell the catch was.
Finally, she cracked open her journal. By now, more people surely would have seen the carnage.
"All right," she sighed heavily. "Anyone wants to go out and find what did it, meet me in the lobby."

Lobby
Re: Lobby
[Conan had examined the scene himself, and to his frustration had come up with more questions than answers. There didn't seem to be any clues that pointed to anyone in the castle. And so he was very curious if Meg had found something to make her so certain she could find the culprit.]

Phantom reporting for duty!
...You do know where we're going, right?

The woods?

So official. Relax, soldier.
[You know, as much as anyone can relax after someone's been ripped to shreds and left to paint the castle walls.]

Someone had to stop it, and who better than a wizard? So after telling Neets where she was going, she drops by the lobby.]
Any chance you know what did it?

Castiel is one of the most powerful beings here, as far as he knows--or would be if he were at full power, which he's pretending he is--and so he feels he probably should help. He should definitely be looking after Meg, at least, and so here he is.]
What are you planning to do?
[He signs to her when he finds her, head tilted slightly to the side.]

She shrugs and sighs.]
Well, whatever it is isn't in the castle anymore. That means it's out there [She nods out the window sideways] or gone, but I sincerely doubt the latter.] So I guess we're gonna go look.
[Clearly, this is an airtight plan.]

He doesn't do much to introduce himself into the gathering group, he just hovers close enough to get a sense of what they're planning. If they're even prepared.
It's probably for the best that they don't hear what he's thinking.]

Suddenly, she feels as though she should be wearing plaid.
She notices Spike and gives him a wry smile. She knows that look... she's trying very hard not to wear one just like it.]
Just another day in Paradise, huh?

[She'd mentally put herself on recon; find it, call for backup, do not engage singularly. She's more used to strategy positions, or manning a post on a ship; this active tracking of a monster she didn't feel she quite understood was better suited to, well. Mal, or Vas, certainly Naomi. Serin found herself greatly missing BB in this moment; his reassuring chatter as much as his timely dispersal of intelligence gathering.]

This one with all the weapons certainly could be an issue, so it makes a run at her - too fast to be perceived by the human eye - aiming to make a grab for any pack or bag she may be carrying.]

So obviously the solution was to follow some of the others without telling anyone and without letting anyone know he was there until it was too late to send him back to the castle.
He moves quietly through the forest, keeping a close ear on the sound of footsteps up ahead.]

Veering off to the side, the Doctor puts himself behind a tree, quiet and waiting. What he does see makes a spike of frustration in him when things really are fraught enough.
Leaning forward as the boy passes, he reaches out a hand to Conan's shoulder, hopefully getting a good enough grip on his clothing in the process to stop him from running and he whispers quickly and quietly. ]
It's me, don't call out. What are you doing out here? [ The irritation in his voice should be apparent. ]

He'd seen enough violence and he was about to contribute to it. If anything he expects he'll be the voice of reason when they find whatever it is they are looking for.]

Which is why the Doctor stands next to his elder and unsurprisingly - is thinking the exact same thing. Five is unarmed, having passed the trunk in the lobby with naught but a tight lipped scowl. The Doctor's greatest weapon was his wits. ]
We're possibly going to have to split up. It's not just about looking for the thing that caused April's murder. It's watching our friends as well.
