Rating: Spicy Somewhat safe. Let's hope it stays that way. Semi-casual.
 

Ever since Phoenix's unfortunate fall which incapacitated him for two weeks, Phoenix and Edgeworht had spontaneously developed a weekly (and at times, bi-weekly) pattern of having a themed dinner event, taking place in Edgeworth's room, in which all foods and decor would be based upon, or otherwise influecned by, a selected country or region. Tonight is Caribbean Night.

Edgewrth had only been to Jamaica once and totally not because he has a Jamaican mun and even then, was only there for a day. He enlisted the help of a few West Indian acquaintances, and wished up a grand number of food items. In order to reflect the multiethnic diversity of the English-speaking Caribbean countries, he requested foods common in the Anglo Caribbean countries such as Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, St. Lucia, and others.

In due time, the castle's ghosts prepared a feast far surpassing the stomach capacity of three (or four) individuals. Upon a large, sand-sprinkled table littered with seashells, there lay three bowls of curried channa and potatoes, goat and shrimp; jerk chicken; slightly sweet fesitval with delicately spongy breaded insides; oxtail; rice and peas; a medium-sized bowl of piping, yellow dhal puree; three, large roti folded into quarters; ackee and saltfish; there was also a bowl of cut fruit including mangoes, otaheite apple, june plum, and others.

As for the condiments, there were three, small glass bowls with a spicy-sweet tamarind sauce, mango chutney, and guava jam. At the right side of the table, there were the beverages: Sorrel, with potent hints of ginger, Ting, and thick, soursop juice.

The decor is as follows: Animated beach wallpaper to give the feel of actually being on a beach. Smells of the sea. Music playing in the background, including steel pans, reggae, soca, chutney music. A large, flat-screen television playing carnival scenes with flamboyantly costumed 'limers', sequined, scantily-clad beauties flailing around to soca music and large floats. Damn it.


Food references: Festival, ackee and saltfish, roti, curried channa and potatoes, Ugh I had links before but don't give a crap anymore find pictures yourselves :/.

Phoenix just kind of... clears his throat.]


S-so. You made it hot in here and everything, huh? You really went all out for this one.

[Nervous smile. He has no idea what he's doing wrong already.]

[He prods at the roti as though he expects it to move or talk or something.

[Ohoho, someone just heard the word 'dates' as he was approaching the door. No, he hasn't been doing research on modern courting, shut up.

He waltzes in, immediately gawking at the elaborate decorating job and the abudant amount of food. He is wearing a light yellow, silk tunic with loose fitting trousers, looking quite put together. He smiles.]

Hello, gents. Quite a pleasant atmosphere you have going, Miles... if I may call you that.

[Studying their reactions, yep.]

[Ahaha--Phoenix in his blue t-shirt and khakis is feeling a bit underdressed.

In any case, he waves and smiles, greeting Geoff happily regardless of how the conversation with Edgeworth had been going just a moment before.]

Hey, Geoff. Glad you made it!

[Geoff enjoys wearing the finer stuff now that he can. He grins.]

Thank you. I am quite well, though I beg your pardon for being late. I hope you both are in good spirits.

[He shrugs and isn't going to touch the "good spirits" question at all.]

[He notices that no one touched that question. He wanders about the room as he speaks.]

Do tell me how long you two have been acquainted with one another.

16, nearly 17 years, I'd say.

Yeah, we've known each other since grade school--since we were like eight or nine years old.

That's quite a long time.

[Smiling at the thought of baby Phoenix.]

Quite a long time, indeed, to be such close friends. You two must know a great deal about each other.
