[It's been a pretty average day at the Lux. No magical time travel, no out of place guests, just a few people who wanted a beer and a decent meal. Nothing out of the usual one way or the other.

Max notices Spike at the end of the bar, and starts to head down in his direction.]

That wouldn't have been my guess.

Apparently not. They'll have to change the expression that nothing good comes from Earth.

I think a good chunk of the castle might take offense to that expression.

Probably. Amazing how time can change your perception.

[He still hasn't touched that food, but he's too wrapped up in his last thought and her beautiful eyes.]

[That's kind of too late to go out for dinner, but he's got another idea.]

Maybe I can stick around to help.

Why not? [He has a generous heart and innocent motives here.] I can count it towards working off my tab.

She's gotta know how much you're working off, right?

That's a good point.

[She's speaking to a man who has never had a real job... excluding that weird week at the candy store. But he's still trying not to look clueless in front of her.]

[Max doesn't understand these people who have never had jobs. They clearly don't know the value of a good cover.

And until he comes back, she'll be wiping down the bar.]

[He's completely lost on how to clock in, but she's insisting, so he basically walks from one end of the store (lingering just long enough to make it seem feasible that he knows what he's doing) and back to her and sits back down to his forgotten plate. It's all about showing confidence.

Hopefully she won't notice if he went in the wrong direction, because he's so charming and all.]
