For some silly reason, Kenzi actually thought she might be able to best Kitt at video games. KITT! Former computer? It was going to be a bloodbath.

"You might want to save some of that, bud."

She came over to the couch, taking her seat back and opening the deck, starting to shuffle with a few trick moves, just to put him on edge.

He inclined his head, playing into the role. Carface the mafia don. He watched her passively, willing himself to betray nothing.

She dealt them out, laying out the rules with ease, picking up her hand and staring at him over the edge of them. "Your move, Kitt-Katt."

All that he needed to do was find her tell. After that, it would be easy.

His eyes flicked from his cards to her, the smile still in place. He nodded easily at her, taking two cards out of his hand and placing them face down to the side, then motioned for two more. Watching her. Just. Watching her.

She'd been playing this game since she was five. She didn't have tells, Kitt. Gooooooood luck.

Sliding two cards over to him, she took three for herself, face as bland as it could possibly be. "Four days?"

Every human had tells. It was simply a matter of sussing them out. He studied his hand, not even looking up. Bored. "Four days per hand."

"What've you got, Kittikins?"

"Two pair." He didn't smoke, but it almost seemed like the game wasn't official without stale cigar smoke hanging in the air around their heads. Or with a spitty, chewed-up cigar hanging from his lips.

"Aces over eights." He laid the cards on the table, spread the cards out for her to see.

"Not bad," she said, giving him a grin before laying her own cards beside his. "Except my full house is better."

He frowned, looking at her cards. Wait. No. He was sure she'd been worried. He eyed her cards suspiciously, half-wondering if the cards had been doctored. Maybe not by her...

A slow look up to the ceiling, then back at her cards. "Mmmm." Nothing else. Just, 'mmmm.'

She snorted at him, gathering the cards together. "Don't even, buddy. I won fair and square."

He narrowed his eyes at her, sitting back in his chair. "Luck." The castle obviously liked her. A lot.

"Skill," she corrected, dealing out another hand.

"Mmmm." Again. As he watched her more carefully this time.

She picked up her hand, putting down one and picking up another. "How many you need, pouty lips?"

Seriously? His hand was utter crap. There had to be something going on - it was like the castle wanted him to lose.

"Three." So many nicknames, he wasn't even bothered enough to notice them anymore.

She hummed as she slid three over, watching his jaw clench in irritation. Ooh, Kitty was not a happy carface.

He didn't notice his own tells, either, now that he was becoming frustrated. Not so much at the hands themselves, but at his own theory as to what was behind the hands.

He finally shook his head, laying the cards down. "I fold." He rubbed his hand down his face, looking calmly disgusted.

"Good thing for you a fold is only a day, hmm? So that's what, five more days as my personal be-yotch? Mmm, I like the sound of that still."

"Oh, thank goodness. I was worried there for a moment. Just deal." Mrf. He had to get his poker face back. Maybe another glass of water would help.

"You know, there's wine in the closet," she said as he got up, shuffling the cards with a smirk.

"I don't drink, Kenzi," he called back. Though if this kept up, maybe he'd start. He had a sudden thought. If she started drinking, maybe it would cloud her thinking. It wasn't like it was cheating or anything.

He got his water, but grabbed an extra mug for her, stopping at the closet on the way back to the table.

"You don't know that. You just haven't drank yet. You should. See if you have a tolerance." She made grabby hands at the bottle, smiling widely as she reached for it.

He made a 'you can't be serious' face at her, opening the bottle and pouring the wine into the mug for her rather than handing over the whole bottle. "Good luck with that idea."

"Chicken," she taunted before taking a healthy sip. Setting the mug down, she shuffled the cards, dealing out five each again.
