[Martel was asleep in her bed when the toxin came, and she fell from her dreamless state of sleep to something much, much worse.

When you arrive in her dreamscape at first it seems empty, just blackness that seems to never end. It’s cold, and empty, and it’s almost like you’re trapped there, with nothing. Only when you take a step, does the blackness start to resolve into colors and pictures. A nightmare starts to take form, and you can’t escape until it plays out.

[Martel was not expecting Galadriel to walk into her line of vision, blocking the mob that is still shouting at her. She whispers quietly, tears gathering in her eyes.] Galadriel... What are you even doing here?

I deserve it. I did do all the things they said I did.

Nonsense. [People can't be legitimately angry at you for dying. That just doesn't make sense.] And I care for you, regardless of what you have or have not done.

Don't you understand? I destroyed the world. I killed all those girls. If I didn't, then my memory did.

You are not responsible for what was done with your memory.

...Do you even know what happened to them? [She pauses, long enough to take a calming breath.] They died. Some were killed on the journey, and some became soulless and their bodies died when my brother tried to force my soul into them and their mana signature didn't match.

And yet, I'm still here. Still alive, and they're dead. What did they ever do to anyone, except being born into the wrong family?

And I will say again: you are not responsible. Your brother's actions are not your own. Martel, if you will not help yourself, I will remove from this place by force. [She's not kidding. She will pick you up if she has to.]

[Martel flinches at that, but stands her ground.] I can't. I can't leave. Now when they're right, not when it's true. Not when my death will end all of this.

Your death will end nothing. Do you think it will bring them back? Erase what they have suffered?

No. No, it probably won't solve anything. But why do I deserve to be revived when they all died?

It is not a matter of what they or you deserve, but what is. Do you not think neglecting all the good you do, and can continue to do, a great sin?

I do not know. But I know that your life has meaning still. That you are loved and needed. I will not allow you to waste that.

[She smiles, blinking back tears, and hugs Galadriel tightly.] Thank you. I...I may always have trouble believing it, but I'll try. For you.

[She smiles lightly and pulls back.] Then let us not tarry here.

...No, no we shouldn't. [She walks away from the mob, turning to look at Galadriel.] Let's go?
