[Martel was asleep in her bed when the toxin came, and she fell from her dreamless state of sleep to something much, much worse.

When you arrive in her dreamscape at first it seems empty, just blackness that seems to never end. It’s cold, and empty, and it’s almost like you’re trapped there, with nothing. Only when you take a step, does the blackness start to resolve into colors and pictures. A nightmare starts to take form, and you can’t escape until it plays out.

[You’re in a field. The field is full of dead things, dead grass, dead animals and plants, dead people. T here’s a group of faceless people alive, though, standing in what could only be a mob. Most of them are young girls and boys with long hair who look startlingly like Martel. There might be a few familiar faces in there, like the Aselians, and most notably, Yuan. They’re yelling at you, or maybe Martel is there too, and they’re hurling insults, that are sort of like this:]

This is your fault. You shouldn’t have died, and therefore the world wouldn’t be dead! Nobody would be dead!

It’s all your fault those girls died for you. Their lives were miserable because of you!

You could have done more, you could have healed the tree, and nobody would have to suffer.

You’re a weak person, and because of that all this happened.

[Things like that. Are you going to take that and agree with them? Or are you going to try to refute them?]

[After Zelos dealt with Onceler's dream of no breathing, he finds himself walking upon this field. He comes to a standstill, watching the mob scream and shout at him.]

[He crosses his arms, but for now he remains silent]

[The mob focuses on him now, but it turns pleading and persuasive, almost like it's trying to convince him.]

You agree with us, don't you? Your life was ruined because of her. You say you don't blame her, but you do. Somehow, in some way.

[...Goddess he hates family reunions]

No. That was Mithos's doing, not her.

[But aren't they the best, Zelos? Especially with all your faceless ancestors talking creepily together?]

She doesn't know that. She doesn't even remember him, so she just assumes she's guilty. And she is, you know. She's guilty of all these deaths.

[yep, he's getting annoyed. ]

No, she's just as much a victim as any of you. If you're all Chosens, you should know better than to blame an innocent person for everything bad that happens.

[Does attempting to glare everyone into silence count as refuting? Because that's what Galadriel is going with.

Instinctively, she steps in front of Martel, placing a steading hand on her shoulder.]

[Martel was not expecting Galadriel to walk into her line of vision, blocking the mob that is still shouting at her. She whispers quietly, tears gathering in her eyes.] Galadriel... What are you even doing here?

[How did she get here? It's rather fuzzy. But that's not what matters at the moment.]

Standing at your side, as I should be.

Y-you should go. Before they do something to both of us...

Do you truly think I would leave you to them? [You know her better than that.]

[When Colette arrives, she's to the side... watching this mob hurl insults at Martel. For a minute it's too much to comprehend. What is she seeing? This... this can't be real, can it? The shock roots her to the spot, but her mouth moves without thinking, and she says softly]

Stop it...

[and then she snaps out of that surprise that was rooting her to the spot. She hurries forward, standing to the side of the mob. She attempts to draw their attention by calling desperately]

Please stop!

[Martel at least hears you. She turns, and she has tears in her eyes when she sees her, whispering, like she doesn't even believe it.] Colette...?

[oh no... Those tears, the way she whispers... Colette's worry increases exponentially. Hurrying over so that she's near Martel she crouches down to be next to her. She looks back at the crowd for a moment-] Please stop saying things like that!

[then she looks back at Martel] E-Everything is going to be alright...

Why aren't you with them? [She gestures out at the crowd, wiping at her eyes with her other hand.] You have every right to be as angry as them.

[Oh Martel. Colette fumbles around trying to see if she has a handkerchief or something, but no luck... So instead she looks back at Martel with surprise at the second statement]

Angry? But I've never been angry at you. [despite what the crowd is yelling and what Martel is saying, Colette isn't piecing it together. Honestly, Colette so rarely gets angry that the idea that she would be mad at Martel is utterly confusing]

[Where his mother-in-law is content to glare at them, Elrond's a little more willing to comfort. And provide a shield against the mob, as he turns to Martel, resting a hand on her shoulder as he keeps his back to them, only casually glancing over to make sure they don't any overtly aggressive moves on them.]

Elrond...? What are you even doing here? [She's watching the mob too, because she doesn't trust that they won't attack.]

For now, giving you comfort and protection. [He doesn't either, which is why he slips an arm around her to try and keep her close.]

They have a point, you know. It was all my fault.

Could you have stopped it from the grave? Given any more of your heart in life? [And that should sound as if he's talking from experience.]

[For a moment, Dhaos believes that the crowd is yelling at him, though he knows not who they are. They're entirely correct about the world, the tree, and his being weak, and he wouldn't be surprised if he's at fault for the deaths of those children too. Thus he's rather confused when he realizes that the crowd is actually directing their scorn at a woman with green hair that seems rather familiar...

Seeing no reason why they should blame her for all that had gone wrong, Dhaos places himself between her and them.]

[She startles when she sees him, because she remembers him, the man from their future, even farther than the others.] ...Dhaos?

[Thanks to his brief departure from the castle, he no longer remembers Martel as she is; only memories of the guardian of the World Tree remain. Still, he is not one to allow an innocent to come to possible harm if help it.]

...I would ask how you know my name, but this hardly seems the time.

Ah, I met you before. When you were at the Castle. [She pauses.] Why are you here?
