Halloween ] [ when all the little ones come and play
What: Halloween!! Trick'or Treating and a Slumber Party!
When: October 31st.
Where: Ballroom to Castle to City to Ballroom
Rating: G to PG13
Early when you rise, it feels like you've had the best night's sleep. You're well-rested and the air outside the window is crisp and showing more than just the signs of fall. Mostly, because the seasons are weird here. You should be used to that. The castle has opted to go simple for the holiday, providing only invitations to all to take the children of the castle Trick or Treating starting at three in the afternoon. There is the promise of a slumber party and time to exchange and enjoy candy. Residents are given bags of candy to hand out (though the castle suspects some might simply eat it themselves) and large Halloween themed bowls.
Costumes are hung, ready to be worn, for all the little boys and girls. With spider rings around their toothbrushes and glow in the dark vampire teeth in their water glass, the castle is glad that the young ones are so excited for the holiday. They all get dressed, proudly displaying their costume, and head down to meet the rest of the children where they hope to have a memorable Halloween for many years to come.

Can you shoot?

[He holds up one of the little arrows.]
No point at all. [He thinks for a moment then grins, offering the bow to her.]
Here, I'll show you!
no subject
I don't know how to do this.

[He takes an arrow from his little quiver and sets it in the bow.]
Go ahead and hold the arrow and pull it back, but keep your elbow level with your shoulder.
no subject
Are you sure this is right?
no subject
That's better. Some people shoot a little differently. And you want to try to touch your hand to your lips for a steadier shot.
no subject
Mm. Okay. I'll try. [She does so and then her fingers slip and the string goes slack.]
Ooops.

[Legolas as a kid is just a bad teacher. Don't listen to him.]
no subject
That was fun!
no subject
Here, watch me.
[He'll take the bow back and retrieve the little arrow to shoot. Taking aim at the same target, he'll pull it back and lets it loose.]

Well, this is but a toy. If I had a real bow, I'd do a lot better.

[Grinning.]
Would you like to try again?
