Halloween ] [ when all the little ones come and play

What: Halloween!! Trick'or Treating and a Slumber Party!

Where: Ballroom to Castle to City to Ballroom
Rating: G to PG13

Early when you rise, it feels like you've had the best night's sleep. You're well-rested and the air outside the window is crisp and showing more than just the signs of fall. Mostly, because the seasons are weird here. You should be used to that. The castle has opted to go simple for the holiday, providing only invitations to all to take the children of the castle Trick or Treating starting at three in the afternoon. There is the promise of a slumber party and time to exchange and enjoy candy. Residents are given bags of candy to hand out (though the castle suspects some might simply eat it themselves) and large Halloween themed bowls.

Costumes are hung, ready to be worn, for all the little boys and girls. With spider rings around their toothbrushes and glow in the dark vampire teeth in their water glass, the castle is glad that the young ones are so excited for the holiday. They all get dressed, proudly displaying their costume, and head down to meet the rest of the children where they hope to have a memorable Halloween for many years to come.

[Who's here in a super awesome archaeologist outfit? One six-year-old half-elf, that's who. Raine seems...exactly as bossy as she would in another twenty years or so, ready to explain to anyone who asks that it's not really a Lost Crows of Asgard, but that she hopes to find the real one someday.

In spite of her age, she speaks with the diction and turn of phrase one would expect from an adult, or at least from a young adult. It's clear she's well-read for a child.]

[Steve will be going as... Captain America. He wants to be ready to protect the tiny trick or treaters. Don't judge him. ]

[Finally, Dairine's back to her regular age! Thank goodness. She'd hate to miss Halloween.

She is decked out in jedi robes, waving around a blue lightsaber replica. She tried to wish up a good lightsaber, but after being foiled by cheap toy imitations, she built her own. Hey, if uneducated farmboys can do it, so can she. No, it can't cut stuff. She doesn't want a trick-or-treating hazard.]

[If you call her Pepper she'll just stare blankly at you, because Virginia, age 8, isn't overly familiar with the nickname. She's dressed up as a doctor though, which she has no clue why Tony thought it was so funny. She has her blue-green scrubs on, a white medical coat, stethoscope and a clipboard. Her hair is pinned back, but she might need someone to redo it. Tony didn't do a good job of it.]

[Elektra is going to be dressed up as a ninja only with more red, less dragons. There might be some real weapons on her too which definitely didn't come with the costume.

Unsurprisingly for those who know her as an adult the cool air is not discouraging her from wearing silk clothing.]

[Well, Rinzler is definitely looking different than his old self. Well, his current self. Instead, he's a lot younger looking, in a child's version of a Tron costume.(All the kids costumes I find pictures of are Legacy Sam Flynn, or I'd link a picture.)]

[Muraki is a dressed as a doctor, since all the men in his family have been doctors for generations, and he's eager to follow in their footsteps. His version is a little more on the professional side with a long white coat, white shirt, and black trousers. He'll also have a stethoscope and a couple of fake syringes sticking out of his pocket because that's normal, right?]

[Felix shows up dressed in something that most people might call Roman emperor but he will steadfastly insist is actually a Prince of Cymellune.

He and Joline used to talk about being long lost royalty, after all.]

[Young Legolas is dressed up as a warrior! Complete with leather boots and armor as well as a small quiver on his back and a cloak. He's also carrying around a bow, properly sized for such a young elfling of course, and... Arrows with suction cups on them. Never-the-less, he's a very good shot and you better hope you don't end up as one of his targets!]

[Phil doesn't do costumes. And frankly, he wants to be ready for anything, because he's not trusting the damn castle. So? Dark suit and tie.

...still, he's absolutely using the holiday as an excuse to bust out his inner fanboy.]

[Without Dipper around, Mabel doesn't feel the need to coordinate a matching outfit with anyone. It's sad, but it also offers her all the freedom in the world to choose a costume all her own.

So of course, she feeds off her current obsession and goes with a vampire costume, complete with fangs that magically cooperate with her braces. Her make up is done pretty well, too!]

[ Duke is a little knight - although one in some dark colors. He is having a bit of trouble with that long cape, since he didn't manage to attach it properly. So if he's tripping while listening for interesting voices, that may be the cause! ]

[Conan, or rather Shinichi, is here as.... Sherlock Holmes. To no ones surprise. Complete with magnifying glass, deerstalker, and inverness cape.]

[Simon was dressed as the stereotypical image of a doctor- white lab coat over a bitty-sized version of his usual exceedingly formal dress of a dress shirt, vest, dress pants and shoes. He also has a plastic stethoscope around his neck and is carrying a play doctor kit with all the essentials- a roll of bandages, a plastic (empty) pill bottle, tongue depressor, etc.]

[Fred's dressed as Raggedy Anne. The costume might be just a touch too small for her -- someone clearly had a growth spurt in the past year -- but it's well loved. Mama's lipstick accounts for the rouged cheeks]

[Now-seven-year-old Alex is all done up as a rock star, guitar included. Maybe a bit surprising to some - Alex is way too lazy to be a rock star.]

[Aradia's the same age as always. She's kind of doubling up on the Halloween thing by dressing up for Day of the Dead preemptively (and getting some makeup practice in while she's at it). So, a simple white dress with lace, a red flower in her hair, which is done neatly up... and some rather elaborate makeup, making her face look much like the sugar skulls she's spent the last few days decorating.
