What: Borgia-Mills Saturnalia party, basically, that party!

The garlands and wreaths of leaves decorating the ballroom sure look similar. Almost Christmas trees. Pagan origins for an otherwise religious holiday. This occasion has no purpose, however, aside from merriment, freedom and lots and lots of eating!

The cooks Henry gathered are welcome to place their creations on a long table set to one side, while most of the ballroom is left clear for dancing of any form. Most of the sofas have been pushed against the walls as refuge for tired feet. The wine flows freely, with uncountable goblets here and there!

Oh, one more thing, beware the nutcrackers.

She tries to make a mock pout at the rock comment. "I do not!"

[secondchances]

"You do! And you snore. I can hear it from my room." She nods. Totally true.

[heloise]

Lucrezia swats her playfully. "What lies! Now I must gather witnesses to vouch that I sleep as silently as the night itself."

[secondchances]

Steph makes her own attempt at a pout, which isn't nearly as good as Lucrezia's. "What, do you have sleepovers with people who aren't me? I think I'm a good, reliable witness!"

So Lucrezia shows her what a proper pout should look like, the one that could earn her ponies and new rooms if she plays her cards right. "I might just, find those who take more pleasure in my sonorous slumber."

[secondchances]

Sonorous. Steph's not sure if that's a word, but it gets her to laugh a little.

"Implying there's anyone who would take pleasure in that."

[heloise]

She tips her chin up in defiance, still pouting! "If you do not then maybe no one will."

[secondchances]

"You're probably right."

She does her best to keep a serious face, but is clearly struggling!

Lucrezia does a better morose face!

"So you must never ever leave me for I would never be able to sleep alone. Did you know you could die of such cause?"

[secondchances]

"I've heard," she smiles, leaning over to press a brief kiss to Lucrezia's cheek. "I guess I can't ever go anywhere, then. Poor Stephanie."

[heloise]

She grins under the kiss and taps Steph's nose. "Poor Stephanie indeed, confined to caring for the lonesome Lucrezia Borgia, shunned for her snoring."

[secondchances]

She hums happily.

"She can't be lonesome if Stephanie is around, and I'm sure her snoring is her worst trait. And snoring can be fixed!"

[heloise]

"But if you were to fix it, she might find a chance to stray," she reaches for strands of Steph's hair and winds it around her index finger. "That would be terrible, would it not?"

[secondchances]

"I'm sure she wouldn't. I hear she's very fond of Stephanie Brown, but keep that a secret."

[heloise]

Lucrezia grins and makes to stand, taking Steph's hand along with her. "Is she fond enough of this Stephanie Brown to want to dance with her?"

[secondchances]

"Definitely. Even if she has no idea what kind of dancing is going to happen."

Like hell if she's comfortable with Strange Renaissance Dances, but she could roll with whatever.

[heloise]

"But Lucrezia Borgia would rather let Stephanie choose, her friend has a penchant for dances that abide by no rules."

[secondchances]

"There are a few with rules that she knows," she smiles, reaching over to take Lucrezia's hands and lead her to the open space. A waltz is about as much as she really knows. It makes her remember Julian, and how surprised she had been to find out he was a good dancer--but she shoves any and all memories out of her mind before she can miss them.

"Do I have to be all proper and ask the lady for a dance?"

Lucrezia comes with, her mask in one hand and Steph in the other. Fitting, she thinks, the way she wants only to shut out the rest of the world and show her face only to those she can still trust. "You would never have to, Stephanie. I would always dance with you."

[secondchances]

"I'll still play the role of the gentleman, though. I promise to do my best when it comes to not stepping on your toes."

She grins, taking Lucrezia's hand and putting it on her shoulder. She keeps the other hand in her own, and puts her free one on her waist.

"I think it goes something like this. We might be making our own dance."

[heloise]

Lucrezia lets her position both their hands, only adjusting her feet so she can stand closer.

"My toes are not so precious that they cannot be sacrificed to learn a new dance with a dear friend," she watches her own hand on Steph's shoulder, drumming her fingers twice. "Why don't we, make our own dance?"

you make me wanna dance, you make me wanna move, you make me wanna make a new dance up!

[secondchances]

Steph smiles, making a show of looking thoughtful.

"I guess we could, but it would need a name."

and you know the moves, 'cause it's our dance!

[heloise]

Lucrezia starts to guide Steph to a slow circle, making up this new dance as they think up a name.

"Should it be beautiful?"

[secondchances]

"I think that's inevitable, given the creators. It's just a question of how beautiful."

Just hopefully not too complicated. Steph likes this circle thing going on.

"Dances are named after its moves, are they not? Or origin," she flicks her wrist so she can twirl once! "Paradisa?"
