So many days into summer and not a single pool party yet! Today castle residents may hear some noise wafting from the lawn and pool along with that distinct smell of the barbecue roaring. Oh yeaaah, Barney Stinson's got you covered, Paradisa!

The lawn area has been decked out all in colors, with the grills to one side and the chocolate fountain to another. For those more inclined to chill out and soak up the sun, there are picnic rugs rolled out on the green grass among any kind of game you could wish for. The pool itself has a few floating beds thrown in and all sorts of toys, with a changing tent set up just nearby for anyone who decides they want to get wet and wild after all!

All the fun is for forgetting recent horrors the residents have been through. So once the sun goes down, there will be a time to write down all unpleasantness, and set it to fire. But be careful not to stay out too late; the Castle may have a different idea of Cinderella once midnight strikes.

Chie takes a deep breath, inhaling the smell of cooking meat. That sure put a smile on her face and made her stomach growl.

"This day is already awesome!"

Ohjiro was on his way out when he'd learned the party was officially on and was looking around for anyone he happened to be familiar with. When he spots a Chie, he'll be wandering over and giving a small wave and a smile.

"Ah, Chie-san. Hello."

With food in her mouth, she lets out a muffled gasp when she turned to see Ohjiro. Good thing the new guy showed up for the party, too. She's glad he's here.

"Hey! Have you tried the food yet? Oh my god it's amazing!"

He wouldn't be one to miss out on a good party, especially not a summer one. He quietly chuckles, realizing he caught her in the midst of eating.

"I haven't yet, no. I only just got here." Though he did meet one of the cooks, already. "It sure seems like you're enjoying it."

Chie nods while chewing a big bite out of a burger.

"These burgers are heaven in your mouth. You should try this one first"

"I'll make sure to keep that in mind." He glanced over in the direction of the grill, briefly considering going over and getting food for himself, but he'll hold off for the moment and look back to Chie.

"How long have you been here?"

"Aff thu purtuh?" Chie responded instinctively, forgetting she has food in her mouth. Rude.

She smiled for a brief second until she covered her mouth with her hand. She swallowed her food and asked again. "At the party? Been here for hours. I actually helped set up"

Wow, Chie. So classy.

"I see." Ohjiro replied, keeping back a quiet laugh. "I certainly hope it wasn't too much work. I would have been happy to help if you'd told me earlier."

So classy that Mitsuru would be jealous.

"It wasn't. The ghosts did much of the heavy lifting. I felt like I wasn't needed at all" Chie shrugged with a smile on her face. "And there was an invitation sent to everyone, but that was probably sent before you came here. I forgot. Sorry!"

"I'm glad to hear that." If she needed help and he didn't know, he probably would have felt a little guilty.

He'll smile and shake his head.

"Oh, don't worry. I was here when the invitation went out. I meant you should have told me that you were helping in the set up. I would have been more than happy to assist."

"Oh, yeah. Alright. I'll let you know when something like this happens again" Chie nods. She doesn't want to burden new people with work like that, but if he really wishes to help, then she's fine with that.

"Aren't you gonna eat yet?"

Oh yeah. He probably should get something to eat. After all, he hadn't eaten today solely due to the party.

"Oh, I'll get there. I just wanted to take in the environment before I got that far."

Chie shrugs while licking her fingers. "I'm gonna get some more. I'm so hungry today" You mean everyday?

Chie motions Ohjiro to follow her while she walks toward the tables where the food are.

Well, he'd might as well follow her. He'll walk after her, stepping up alongside her.

"So, I think I saw something in the journal that you served as a back-up cook for Barney-san?"

"Oh, uhm. I was supposed to. But it didn't happen" Thank God. She just chuckled nervously, scratching her temple with her finger.

"No?" He tilted his head to the side, "Why not? Did you change your mind?"

He was almost slightly disappointed by the fact, though little was he aware that this meant he avoided potential food poisoning.

"I was busy. Eheh-heh... Let's just get some food" Chie shyly walked to the table to get herself a new plate to put her food in.

Ohjiro was kind of puzzled by the way she was talking, but he decided it was best not to question it. The way she was talking seemed awfully weird for her just 'being too busy' to do any cooking.

He'll take a plate of his own and look over what food was set out.

"Wow, there's quite the selection, isn't there?"

"Yep! There's even vegetables if you don't eat meat. But who doesn't?" She shrugs. But she got a couple of celery sticks and some ranch dressing. What? She's not entirely a carnivore!

Ohjiro, for one, certainly wasn't a vegetarian, so meat wasn't off limits for him. He'll particularly be eyeing some kabobs over there; he may be half-wondering if they'll be as good as what Ogata could do.

"Barney-san really went all out with this."

"Yup. He knows how to throw a party alright!" Chie grabbed two of the kabobs and puts them on her plate while humming happily.

He'll be putting a couple of the kabobs on his plate as well, glossing over some of the other food available.

"I guess he wasn't kidding about making this 'legendary', was he?"

Though legendary might've been exaggerating a bit, but hey, who knows what was going to go down later. It could turn out 'legendary' in the end.

"I don't know about 'legendary'" Yukiko would be giggling right now. There's something about the word "legendary" to her [referring to the manga]. "But it's waaay better than my school's culture festival" That awkward as hell group date cafe really ruined it for her.

[princeandwizard]

"A culture festival?" Ohjiro looked at her curiously. A party like this was better than an entire festival?

"Was there something wrong with the festival?"

"Yeah, our class had this really stupid idea my friend Yosuke came up with. I still can't believe people voted for it! Sheesh..."
