Percy had been itching to really explore the maze inside Paradisa for a long time, but things kept cropping up. Now that there was finally some free time he wasn't going to pass it up. He packed up everything he thought might be needed: water bottles, flashlight, rope, blankets, various snacks and of course his sword and shield.

He had no real method to the madness of exploration. He just chose a direction and went with it. It would probably go easier if Rachel were there, but since she wasn't he and Violet would have to do their best.
