So many days into summer and not a single pool party yet! Today castle residents may hear some noise wafting from the lawn and pool along with that distinct smell of the barbecue roaring. Oh yeaaah, Barney Stinson's got you covered, Paradisa!

The lawn area has been decked out all in colors, with the grills to one side and the chocolate fountain to another. For those more inclined to chill out and soak up the sun, there are picnic rugs rolled out on the green grass among any kind of game you could wish for. The pool itself has a few floating beds thrown in and all sorts of toys, with a changing tent set up just nearby for anyone who decides they want to get wet and wild after all!

All the fun is for forgetting recent horrors the residents have been through. So once the sun goes down, there will be a time to write down all unpleasantness, and set it to fire. But be careful not to stay out too late; the Castle may have a different idea of Cinderella once midnight strikes.

THE BARBECUE

Beside the barbecue machines now hard at work is a hole in the ground filled with ice and every kind of booze. Beer Trench. The chocolate fountain is set up on another side, with every kind of food that can be dipped in chocolate. Help out with the cooking or help yourself to some meat and booze!

Barney's taken the first shift at the barbecue pit, before his helpers show up. One grill is covered in burgers and hot dogs, and the other has a round of chicken wings in a thick buffalo marinade going. He has a dark green apron on so he doesn't get sauce all over his outfit, but aside from that, you guys have the swankest grill chef in history, pretty much.

At the moment, he's dancing and twirling his grill tongs as he's waiting for the perfect flipping moment. When he catches sight of you, he smiles like he's been waiting for you - YES YOU! - to show up, and the party couldn't start till you walked in.

"Hey, there you are! What up?"

Utena starts to question the wisdom of wearing a white jacket over her swimsuit once she sees those hot wings, but she's quickly distracted by the guy working the grill. The dancing is a bit goofy, but hey, he's not bad.

And then he starts to talk.

"Who, me?"

Utena blinks in surprise. Sure, he seems friendly enough, but they haven't met, have they?

"Who else would I be talking to?" He grins. "I mean, I invited everybody, so when somebody shows up, I wouldn't be a very good host if I didn't say hi. ... I'm Barney. Thanks for coming."

That's a swank grill chef indeed. It was almost odd seeing someone so well dressed attending the grill. The guy must be confident in his skills to wear white while working with sauces.

Ohjiro gives a wave and a smile, recognizing Barney's voice from the journals. He met the man in charge of this whole party already.

"Good afternoon. Would you be Barney-san, perhaps?"

"That's me, bro." He smiles. "We spoke over the journal the other day, right? I don't think I caught your name."

Phoebe stopped at the familiar voice, turning to look his way with a smile on her face. She's looking hot as ever as she steps over to the man who she was still unconvinced remembered everything from his previous stay at the castle.

"Hello, Barney."

Being a hobbit, Frodo naturally gravitates to food. Especially hot, just-cooked food, and beer. Oh wow, so much beer. Consider him the happiest hobbit in all the universes at this moment. He very nearly drops his plastic plate at the shout, staring up wide-eyed at the friendly cook.

"Hullo!" He peers to check out the grills, unable to see much aside from the smoke. Woe. "Have you any bacon, by any chance?"

Spike was just going to walk through the party and steal some food off the grill when he seems to be caught. Now Spike will have to pretend that he came by to socialize.

"Think you have enough?"

Gren is taking all this in with a small grin on his face. It's quite a party, and honestly a lot more his speed than the masquerade a month or so ago - wine fountain not withstanding. He wishes he could have dragged Vicious down here, but crowds weren't his thing. Maybe he'd snag some of that delicious food to go.

He glances at Barney. "Just checking out the spread. I'm impressed."

Chie takes a deep breath, inhaling the smell of cooking meat. That sure put a smile on her face and made her stomach growl.

"This day is already awesome!"

Ohjiro was on his way out when he'd learned the party was officially on and was looking around for anyone he happened to be familiar with. When he spots a Chie, he'll be wandering over and giving a small wave and a smile.

"Ah, Chie-san. Hello."

Martel has actually gravitated to the chocolate fountain, and is currently dipping in strawberries to eat. She has a bit of a sweet tooth and to be honest, not that much of an appetite.

She's enjoying herself so far, and is peering around, looking for people she knows.

Of course Ted came to the barbecue. Hanging around people, socializing, having fun. It was a good balm to the scary stuff. And then he saw Martel. His face lit up.

"Martel! Hi! It's good to see you here."

A cheery voice calls out nearby.

"Hey, Martel-san!"

Rise bounces on over in her new bikini and a small wrap skirt. Strawberries and a chocolate fountain were calling to her... and she just happened to see someone she knows had the same idea!

A barbecue was certainly an interesting invention, one that Sunny had never before seen in action. She was fascinated to see how one might cook with it - even though it was inadvisable that she attempt it for herself.

She stepped closer, careful to keep her skirt out of the way of any of those flames as she watched.

Barney noticed the girl watching and raised an eyebrow as he nodded hello. "Hey, how's it going?"

Tex muttered about the inability to eat, but it was only half loud and mostly indistinct. If she had a mouth it would be watering. As it was the best she got were density of the metal grill and thermal readings from the bbq, the suit deemed it a tactically nill threat; which made her bark out laughter.

There is so much food here, Wade isn't even sure where to start. It's all kinds of smells that send her stomache rumbling in a rather embarrassing manner.

"It looks fantastic doesn't it?" she says to the girl she spots watching the meat roast.

This wasn't quite the sort of party he typically attended but he wasn't going to complain. A party was a party, after all. Besides, it was an excuse to be social while still keeping an eye on the residents as a whole.

He made a stop to get a drink... at the hole in the ground. Why is the alcohol in a hole in the ground? That's just not right. It's an insult to alcohol. But he wasn't about to pass up free alcohol just because it was sat in a hole. He crouched down and fished out a glass bottle of beer, opening it and taking a sip as he looked around.]

"Quite an usual method of storing drinks, no?" Ashura asked, gliding up to James, today dressed in mint green and gold, hair set with gold and jade. He seemed not the least perturbed byt he residual heat of the summer months, in fact quite enjoying it. "Though I suppose the theory is sound."

It's funny when you stop by to check on one person and wind up finding another. Spike spots him with his drink and toasts with the hotdog in his hand -- not even jealous.

Jennifer made a beeline to the chocolate fountain as soon as she'd arrived at the party, taking the opportunity to dip some fruit in it. It was terribly unhealthy- but then again, wasn't that the point of a barbecue?

Blue, meanwhile, sniffed around the barbecue grills, hoping someone would give a cute sheepdog a scrap or two.

Rise, of course, is bouncing around all over the party, being perky and social because that's what she does. She didn't bother to wear anything but her swimsuit and a wrap skirt, either... what's the point at a summer party with a pool?

But as soon as she sees Jennifer - willingly making an appearance at a party, no less! - she makes her way over.

"Jen-chaaan~!"

Suddenly, there's a teenage bikini model (hey, it's one of her jobs!) clinging to Jennifer's arm.

"Isn't this a great party?! I'm glad you made it!"
