So many days into summer and not a single pool party yet! Today castle residents may hear some noise wafting from the lawn and pool along with that distinct smell of the barbecue roaring. Oh yeaaah, Barney Stinson's got you covered, Paradisa!

The lawn area has been decked out all in colors, with the grills to one side and the chocolate fountain to another. For those more inclined to chill out and soak up the sun, there are picnic rugs rolled out on the green grass among any kind of game you could wish for. The pool itself has a few floating beds thrown in and all sorts of toys, with a changing tent set up just nearby for anyone who decides they want to get wet and wild after all!

All the fun is for forgetting recent horrors the residents have been through. So once the sun goes down, there will be a time to write down all unpleasantness, and set it to fire. But be careful not to stay out too late; the Castle may have a different idea of Cinderella once midnight strikes.

Utena starts to question the wisdom of wearing a white jacket over her swimsuit once she sees those hot wings, but she's quickly distracted by the guy working the grill. The dancing is a bit goofy, but hey, he's not bad.

And then he starts to talk.

"Who, me?"

Utena blinks in surprise. Sure, he seems friendly enough, but they haven't met, have they?

"Who else would I be talking to?" He grins. "I mean, I invited everybody, so when somebody shows up, I wouldn't be a very good host if I didn't say hi. ... I'm Barney. Thanks for coming."

She smiles back, and says, "I'm Utena, Utena Tenjou. And I should be the one thanking you! I mean, even in a place like this, throwing a big party's gotta be a lot of work. Did you do all of this yourself?"

"The Awesomeness Committee helped - it's our first big bash in over a year. I would've done one sooner, but some unexpected traveling came up." He sighed, looking out past the castle to the horizon.

"You know how it is around here - one minute you're minding your business, the next morning you wake up as an inanimate object, someone picks you up, puts you in their bag on a trip out to the Dead Zone, and you fall out unnoticed.... then it's one long slog back to the castle, one misadventure leads to another, and ... suddenly you've been gone so long people thought you got sent home."

"Wait, that actually happened to you?"

Geeze, and she thought the other losses were terrible! Utena looks at him with an expression that's a mix between shock and sympathy, and asks, "How'd you make it back, anyway? I mean, that's one heck of a trip!"

Perfect, Barney thought. This place was just made for crafting the ultimate Playbook entry. Already, he'd not only managed to convince people he'd never left Paradisa and remembered them, but he was hooking new people into it, too. He shrugged nonchalantly. "Oh, I eventually found my way to Terre Haute, where the giraffes gave me a ride back after I taught them how to use a cocktail shaker. Totally revolutionized their juice bar."

Terre Haute? Her eyes lit up in recognition when he mentioned the name, and she said, "That's a place I didn't expect to hear about any time soon. Though, I'm guessing you missed all the excitement. I mean, you didn't get there until after the last expedition, right?"

"Yeah, from the sound of things, I'd just missed everyone. I'm kinda glad, though. I'm more of a lover than a fighter. Make awesomeness, not war, you know what I'm saying?"
