IT'S A BABY-BONANZA!

Good morning, residents! Did you sleep well? You're going to need all the energy you can muster because congratulations: You're parents! Again! The Paradisa Stork has paid some very lucky residents a visit last night, and even moved them to a more kid-friendly environment.

Some of you may already recognize your little bundle of joy and--my, how they've grown! Others will have to get acquainted with their little rugrats. You may not know them, but they certainly know you. By they way? They're bored. And hungry! And they want all the attention you could possibly give them.

It's going to be a long week.

[She's still sore from their argument, but mostly now just worried about him. She's been worried about him since the events on the EH, really, and the arguing and the baby just makes her all the more concerned.

She catches him out of the corner of her eye as she drinks some soda.]

About what? [IT'S NEVER GOOD.]

Everything that's happened today and what's next. [GOSH SOMETIMES HE HAS GOOD THOUGHTS.]

Do you mean like... in the grand scheme of things, or tomorrow?

[dorkwonder]

Tomorrow. I am trying to not think too far ahead.

[She can tell he's a little more attached to Jack than she is. Setting her food on her lap, she scoots closer to him.]

What do you think is going to happen tomorrow?

Depends on how upset you are with me by then.

[THAT'S NOT FUNNY, TIM. Steph makes a face.]

What? I'm being serious. [Confused at her reaction.]

If you're still upset with me, then things will probably still be a little awkward and tense.

I'm--I'm not upset. [Totally is, just a little, though.] I don't mean to make things awkward, really. It's just been a long month, and this...

[Probably isn't going to help.]

It has been. And this is what happens after a month like ours. I think we're handling it better than most.

[The images he saw were downright gruesome and they still haunt his consciousness and unconsciousness. He's sure there are a lot of people who would have gone permanently insane from it.]

It could always be worse, I guess. Though I hope I didn't just jinx us.

In that case, it could also be better and it will be better. [Reaches for her hand.]

Yeah. And I'm with you every step of the way, Tim. [She feels like a broken record, but she just wants to emphasize that she understands what he's going through. And that she can handle it. She really doesn't want the baby to be the thing that sends him over the edge.]

I know, and I'm here for you too. I'm not the only one who has been through a lot. [No one is making it out of this month unscathed.]

Once we've had some time to decompress, we can settle this ongoing issue once and for all.

[It's so much easier for her to focus on other people than to think about her own stuff, but she nods. She knows he's there.]

Definitely.

How are you feeling right now about everything?

[secondchances]

Worried. [Worried about their issue becoming her being forced into making a choice. But she doesn't want to get into that right now, or find out if she's right or wrong about it.]

Worried about you, mostly. I know you just need time, but I can't help it. And today's been... emotional, to say the least.

[dorkwonder]

I'm worried about you. [As much as he appreciates her being so concerned about him, he wants to know more about what's going on with her.]

I'm okay, Tim. [Definitely totally okay after revisiting terrible trauma thanks to space hallucinations, getting stabbed by the girl she once loved like a sister, getting attacked by her boyfriend, dealing with crazy said boyfriend, a BFF disappearing into space, and arguments that dig deep.

And a castle baby.

Totally fine.]

Now you sound like me and we both know you're not me.

[Between the two of them he's the one who is meant to be broody and bottle things up.]

[Her head hangs a little.]

... okay, maybe not okay okay. But you don't need to worry, I bounce back pretty easily.

[dorkwonder]

[Remembers how Lucrezia mentioned how Steph can endure everything that the castle throws at her. Believes that's true for the most part, but eventually it gets to her.]

You can lean on me from time to time, you know.

[In the form of a hysterical crying fit once every three years. Steph frowns and picks at her food.]
