i like the chance you take
Who: Cass and Steph!
What: Girl time♥
When: This weekendish
Where: Bathaus
Rating: C FOR CUTE
It was about time Steph put a little extra effort out there for Cass. She'd been all over the place lately, and it had to be hard on the girl that thought she was dead not too long ago. She'd promised a lot of fun things, but some of those fun things needed planning--like a beach day. So, for now, she'd have to improvise.
And that's why there was an assortment of fruits, candies, syrups, and sprinkles set out on the counter. Steph was trying to be quiet, taking the ice cream tubs out of the bag and sneak them into the freezer, but the paper was annoyingly loud in the quiet home.
This was supposed to be a surprise. Grr.

She's in her bedroom lounging around with Ace when the dog's head picks up and his body language tells her that noise means food and they both suddenly have a vested interest in checking out the kitchen.
When Cass finds Steph there, she doesn't say anything at first. She's trying to be sneaky, so why not let her think it's working just for a little longer. Should Stephanie happen to look around, she'll find Cass leaning up against the doorjamb and just kind of... watching her. She never really did get rid of that habit.

"Whoops," she says, though her body says DAMN THERE GOES MY SURPRISE. Still, she shuts the freezer (it barely fit all the ice cream), and tries to look casual. She even folds her arms and leans against the fridge.
"Cass. Hey. What's up?"
no subject
"The, um... jig." That's the right word, she's pretty sure. The right phrase that means ha ha I caught you. She reaches past Steph to see if she'll get to peek into the freezer.
no subject
"Caught me red handed. Should I leave and try again?"
no subject
"Nope. Should... eat it, with me. Since that... was your plan. Right?"
no subject
"Definitely my plan. I got a ton of stuff to put in the ice cream, too. We could make milkshakes. Just you and me."
no subject
"Good plan. Give it... A plus."
no subject
She couldn't blame Cass for being skeptical, of course. After giving her a tight squeeze, she lets go. There will be plenty of time for cuddles. Steph's schedule was totally clear.
"So, let's get crackin'. What kind of stuff sounds good to you, Cass?"
no subject
And that's got to be the easiest question she's ever been asked.
"Everything."
no subject
... well, maybe it could, it just might leave a mess that Tim wouldn't be happy to clean up. She offers Cass one of the glasses she'd set out.
"Maybe a portion of everything."
no subject
"Chocolate ice cream." Obviously, it's only her favorite. "Mm... strawberries. What else... should go in?"
no subject
"Whatever you want! I have no part in the creation process."
Meanwhile, she piles those things into the blender for her. Wise choices, Cass.
no subject
What are the rules about eating ingredients? That's definitely going on right now.
"Okay... Now turn on?"
no subject
"You may have the honors of pressing it."
no subject
She presses the button, holding it down just in case while she uses her other hand to hold candies up to Steph's mouth for her to eat. Good teachers deserve treats, after all.
no subject
"Should be good," she gets out, voice muffled by all the sweets in her mouth. Cass would understand.
no subject
"There's lots, there. Plenty for two."
no subject
"To best friends."
no subject
And she's not really sure what Steph is doing at first, holding her glass up like that. Does she want her to drink both glasses? She can probably handle that- but no, reading her shows the true intention. So Cass grins and carefully touches her glass to Steph's. The verbal part she's not so clear on though so she just takes a big drink of her milkshake.
Sometimes not feeling pain is a good thing and now is one of those times. No such thing as brain freeze!
no subject
"Whew, that's sweet," she almost coughs, but it's also good, too.
no subject
"What will... you put in yours?"
no subject
no subject
"How did... you learn this? To make these?"
no subject
"... I guess I saw it on TV or something." Not really a thing her parents would have done with her, and she didn't have friends like that in school. "It's easy."
no subject
"Lucky me. Get to... learn from greatest."
