So many days into summer and not a single pool party yet! Today castle residents may hear some noise wafting from the lawn and pool along with that distinct smell of the barbecue roaring. Oh yeaaah, Barney Stinson's got you covered, Paradisa!

The lawn area has been decked out all in colors, with the grills to one side and the chocolate fountain to another. For those more inclined to chill out and soak up the sun, there are picnic rugs rolled out on the green grass among any kind of game you could wish for. The pool itself has a few floating beds thrown in and all sorts of toys, with a changing tent set up just nearby for anyone who decides they want to get wet and wild after all!

All the fun is for forgetting recent horrors the residents have been through. So once the sun goes down, there will be a time to write down all unpleasantness, and set it to fire. But be careful not to stay out too late; the Castle may have a different idea of Cinderella once midnight strikes.

This wasn't quite the sort of party he typically attended but he wasn't going to complain. A party was a party, after all. Besides, it was an excuse to be social while still keeping an eye on the residents as a whole.

He made a stop to get a drink... at the hole in the ground. Why is the alcohol in a hole in the ground? That's just not right. It's an insult to alcohol. But he wasn't about to pass up free alcohol just because it was sat in a hole. He crouched down and fished out a glass bottle of beer, opening it and taking a sip as he looked around.]

"Quite an usual method of storing drinks, no?" Ashura asked, gliding up to James, today dressed in mint green and gold, hair set with gold and jade. He seemed not the least perturbed byt he residual heat of the summer months, in fact quite enjoying it. "Though I suppose the theory is sound."

Bond was seriously starting to wonder if Ashura was somehow stalking him. Nontheless he gives the man a brief nod, "Yes, although I typically prefer my drinks to not have been buried alive."

Not stalking, you just happen to show up places he is. Perhaps it is you who is doing the stalking, James.

"Well, considering they can still breathe, burying might be a harsh word for it."

Perish the thought you crazy elf.

He scoffs, "I hardly consider it breathing when I have to wipe the dirt off of the bottle before I can take a drink."

Ashura rolled his eyes and laughed softly. "A little dirt has never hurt anyone."

It's funny when you stop by to check on one person and wind up finding another. Spike spots him with his drink and toasts with the hotdog in his hand -- not even jealous.

Oh look, just the man he wanted to see. Bond gave Spike a nod before walking over, "Enjoying yourself, I see."

He hasn't counted on that being a beckon, but people did usually come to these things to socialize. Spike didn't come for the free meal, anyway. Not totally.

"You can't keep me away from a party." And counting the masquerade, that almost sounds believable.

This was socializing? Oh no. THIS was interrogating. Bond doesn't react beyond, "I'm surprised you're not attending her Magesty."

There was a flicker of tension in his jaw, but Spike would have reacted the same even if it wasn't Bond asking. It was clear by now that he made their connection much too obvious.

"She's still recovering."

Bond nodded slightly. He had noticed that the queen had been more absent than usual and assumed as much. After a brief pause his gaze returned to the man, "I'm afraid I've suddenly found myself out of her good graces."

He stepped closer, the look in his blue eyes darkening slightly, "I don't suppose you would know anything about that, would you?"

Spike rose an eyebrow, but he couldn't be too annoyed when he opened himself up to that in the first place. It was just a coincidence that this guy would decide to approach him now, when the queen would sooner see his head chopped off than have another conversation like the last one they had.

"Are you afraid she's been listening to gossip?"

Yes, Spike, it was clearly your fault for opening yourself for conversation. Clearly.

He lifted an eyebrow of his own, regarding the man carefully. Nonverbal cues can be just as important as the conversation itself, you know.

"That depends entirely on what sort of gossip that may be."

He shrugged, even if he had something very specific in mind. Something he wouldn't have brought up so soon, but he'd much rather shift the focus.

"I don't really participate in it, myself. But you know how the journals are."
