GRAND RELAUNCH BARBECUE

Who: EVERYONE
What: Awesomeness Committee BBQ party
When: Saturday, July 6
Where: Castle lawn and pool

So many days into summer and not a single pool party yet! Today castle residents may hear some noise wafting from the lawn and pool along with that distinct smell of the barbecue roaring. Oh yeaaah, Barney Stinson's got you covered, Paradisa!

The lawn area has been decked out all in colors, with the grills to one side and the chocolate fountain to another. For those more inclined to chill out and soak up the sun, there are picnic rugs rolled out on the green grass among any kind of game you could wish for. The pool itself has a few floating beds thrown in and all sorts of toys, with a changing tent set up just nearby for anyone who decides they want to get wet and wild after all!

All the fun is for forgetting recent horrors the residents have been through. So once the sun goes down, there will be a time to write down all unpleasantness, and set it to fire. But be careful not to stay out too late; the Castle may have a different idea of Cinderella once midnight strikes.

Reclining seats are the best, Natasha found herself a prime chair spot, pulled out the sun screen and slipped on her shades. She hadn't wanted to event hink of pulling on a swim suit since she'd arrived, but who could say no to an event like this?

She'd be nosing out the food and drinks shortly but for now she was content as a cat in a sunbeam.

Once his fellow grillmeisters relieved him of his position, Barney grabbed two beers from the Booze Trench and headed for the pool. The mathematical statistics of Summer Party Physics dicated that chicks were most likely to gravitate to where they could get their tan on, and he was seriously not disappointed. Shifting one beer so that it dangled by its neck from between his fingers, he held it out at arm's length as he walked up to Natasha, glass still frosty from its stay in the trench.

"First round's on me."

Oh, this must be the host, the guy who was touting the Awesomeness Committee in and of itself. She half chuckled and sat up, clicking the chair into a more upright position. "Спасибо." She offered her thanks in Russian because, well it wasn't exactly like she needed to hide or pretend here anymore was it?

She took the chilled bottle and twisted the top off it, sipping in toast to the bringer of the beverage. "So...do you always arrange huge parties for people you don't know?"

It was all Barney could do not to make a little high pitched "Thank you for the hot girl, God" noise when she replied in Russian. Hot damn. This was already the best party he'd ever thrown. He smiled, opening his beer as he replied: "As often as I possibly can. I've been here for years, and if there's one thing I know? It's that Paradisa needs parties."

That was actualy a pretty good answer and it made her smile, maybe even laugh a little. "You know, I think you might be on to something there." She shifted her beer to her free hand and extended the other. "Natasha Romanoff, I haven't been here a year yet, but it's been...interesting. I'd much rather see more of these kinds of days than some of our world changes."
bro_codebreaker: (believe me when I say...)

"Well, Natasha, if you're the only one who agrees with me, I'm still doing it right." He took her hand and bent down just long enough to kiss it. "Barney Stinson. Nice to meet you."

She had to hold in a snicker to that, somehow it was more affectation than gallantry coming from a guy dressed like that. But he was harmless enough so..why not indulge in a little flirtation?
"I'm an agreeable kind of girl I guess. Nice to meet you too Barney, have to say I'm liking the idea of an Awesomeness Committee more and more all the time."

Affectation was one of his many middle names, in all honesty, but if the shoe fit, he'd wear it all day long.

"Well, it does have open membership. Anyone's welcome to join."

Apparently he had a lot of shoes in that case. But he wore them well.

"Not sure what I can contribute, not exactly the party girl. But... I may check it out and see if I can help out. I can always at least bring the drinks. Just...don't let me near anything requiring cooking..it doesn't end well." Yeah, her loss after EV has left her dependent on Jarvis for anything more involved than sandwiches or coffee.
bro_codebreaker: (he isn't full of fluff and gloss)

"Not a chef, huh? That's okay. That's the beauty of the Committee. You don't have to actually bring anything but your own inherent awesomeness. If we're missing anything, the castle fills in the holes."

"I burned Kraft mac & cheese, it wasn't pretty." It was also annoying as she'd studied hard to be able to cook well or to scrounge under bad conditions. "Low investment, maximum output of fun? I like this better all the time."
bro_codebreaker: (that guy's awesome!)

[personal profile] bro_codebreaker 2013-07-08 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"So it basically only tasted a little worse," he grinned. "You know you can just wish for food around here, right?"

"I don't like wishing for things, always been more of a fan of working for what I want." But it was a good thing to bear in mind. "I guess it's a good last resort though."
bro_codebreaker: (believe me when I say...)

"Oh come on," he coaxed, leaning on the back of her lawn chair as he settled into one of his favorite roles: devil's advocate. "You spent how long, back home, working your butt off? I'd think you're entitled to a break once in a while. And it's not like you're hurting anyone doing it. Besides, if you're that hung up on it, you can just wish for your food, and none of the other stuff. It's like only getting some of your stuff from supermarkets and the rest from those fancy local organic markets."

"You have an interesting outlook, in fact I think you're the first person to actually advocate using the wish system here." That made you interesting Barney, anomaly always were.

"So just wish for food and not other things and I'd be ok? Somehow I question that. How has it worked out for you?"
