So many days into summer and not a single pool party yet! Today castle residents may hear some noise wafting from the lawn and pool along with that distinct smell of the barbecue roaring. Oh yeaaah, Barney Stinson's got you covered, Paradisa!

The lawn area has been decked out all in colors, with the grills to one side and the chocolate fountain to another. For those more inclined to chill out and soak up the sun, there are picnic rugs rolled out on the green grass among any kind of game you could wish for. The pool itself has a few floating beds thrown in and all sorts of toys, with a changing tent set up just nearby for anyone who decides they want to get wet and wild after all!

All the fun is for forgetting recent horrors the residents have been through. So once the sun goes down, there will be a time to write down all unpleasantness, and set it to fire. But be careful not to stay out too late; the Castle may have a different idea of Cinderella once midnight strikes.

Rise, of course, spends the majority of her time at the party lounging by the pool - and showing off her new swimsuit. She could have gone a little more modest, but after her age-down loss last month, she felt like showing off a bit more! And it's pretty much the same style she's used to modeling!

Of course, she can't just sit around the whole time at a party! She might be up and around on occasion, trying to find people to socialize with. Whether they've ever even met before or not!

That's what parties are for, right?

Utena's toweling off, still wet from the pool, and dressed in the same blue swimsuit from the first time she met Rise. Swimming was fun, but she could use a break. Maybe she could grab some food, or see if anyone else she knows is around, or-

"Whoa..."

And there's Rise, walking around in her new swimsuit. That sort of thing was just a bit too cute for Utena's tastes, but she had to admit, Rise looked great in it. The distraction is temporary, though, and she greets her new friend with a smile and a wave.

"Utena-chan!"

Rise quickly notices the other girl and rushes over to give her a quick hug. Who cares if she's still a little wet?

She totally noticed Utena's reaction to the swimsuit, though. As she pulls away, she does a simple little pose - nothing too suggestive, but something she might have done for a photoshoot in a bikini just like this one.

"What do you think? Much better than last time, huh?"

Wow, she's pretty forward, isn't she? Utena doesn't mind, though; it kind of reminds her of her old friend Wakaba, in a way. She returns the hug, and laughs a bit when Rise strikes a pose.

"Much better," she says. "But I have to say, the frills suited you pretty well, too."

"I still have a suit kinda like that one! Maybe I'll wear it next time."

Spoiler alert, it's also a skimpy bikini. But it has frills!

She gives Utena a thoughtful once-over look and smirks, "Actually, I bet it'd look great on you, too..."

Utena's one-piece is cute, but she has a great figure! She should show it off a bit sometimes!

"I'll pass," she says, shaking her head. "No offense, but that sort of frilly stuff doesn't really suit me. I mean, you can pull it off, but me? It's just too much."

Rise just blinks once or twice. "Really? I think you'd be cute in just about anything!"

She means it too. She can understand if frills aren't Utena's personal taste, sure, but of course they'd suit her!

She shrugs, and says, "I don't really do cute well. If I had to choose a style, though..."

Utena thinks for a moment, and says, "I'd rather dress up in something cool. You know, something sleek and really stylish."

"Ooh, yeah, I could totally see that~!"

She still thinks Utena would totally rock a bikini, though.

"It's too bad we can't really go shopping here! Not unless you like the town's sense of fashion..."

Wishing for things is nice, sure, but you can only wish for things you already know you want. And that's not the point of shopping at all.

"Hey, don't knock it until you try it. I mean, who wouldn't want to dress up like someone from Ye Olden Days?"

She's just kidding, of course, but the lack of shopping never bothered her. Though, she does worry sometimes about what price all these wishes are going to come at. After all, nothing's really free, is it?

Rise can't help but give Utena a sly look at that.

"Hey, I've seen how you dress sometimes! Maybe you do shop out there?"

She gives the other girl a wink and quickly shifts out of teasing mode.

"You know, if we ever get a chance to visit a real city or something, we should go shopping! Just for fun!"

"I don't know," she says. "It's kind of pointless, don't you think? I mean, all we have to do is snap our fingers, and the castle will give us all the clothes we can ask for."

"I guess... but then you'd never try anything new."

She gets an obviously excited smile just thinking about it.

"Like, maybe you find something you wouldn't normally wear, but it looks really good on you and you end up liking it! That's what makes it fun!"

With every girl in a bikini that shows up, Barney's love for summer is reaffirmed just that much more. This girl looks borderline legal, so he won't go for the drink offer, but when she gets up to wander around, he'll be waiting with a towel.

"Having a good time?"

She hasn't met him yet, but she recognizes his voice from the journal. So she gives him a friendly smile and a nod in reply while accepting the offered towel.

"Yep! ... Barney-san, right?"

The name sounds kinda strange to her, but it is foreign...

"That's me, but you've got me at a disadvantage. Which is a shame, because if your name's half as pretty as you are..."

Oh, that's right! They never really introduced themselves.

Rise giggles, if only because it's a sweet compliment and the guy is charming, at least. Besides, she's used to attention from older guys... most of them fans. A little playful flirting never hurt anyone.

"Rise! Rise Kujikawa."

"Sounds like the kind of name I ought to see up on a billboard somewhere," he smiled, keeping the charm at steady levels, since it seemed to be working.

Funny he should mention that...

"Well, I am an idol back home! I don't think there are any billboards around here, though..."

She is, of course, being playfully teasing. As usual.
