So many days into summer and not a single pool party yet! Today castle residents may hear some noise wafting from the lawn and pool along with that distinct smell of the barbecue roaring. Oh yeaaah, Barney Stinson's got you covered, Paradisa!

The lawn area has been decked out all in colors, with the grills to one side and the chocolate fountain to another. For those more inclined to chill out and soak up the sun, there are picnic rugs rolled out on the green grass among any kind of game you could wish for. The pool itself has a few floating beds thrown in and all sorts of toys, with a changing tent set up just nearby for anyone who decides they want to get wet and wild after all!

All the fun is for forgetting recent horrors the residents have been through. So once the sun goes down, there will be a time to write down all unpleasantness, and set it to fire. But be careful not to stay out too late; the Castle may have a different idea of Cinderella once midnight strikes.

"I haven't had an opportunity like this for a while myself. It was only last summer with my older brother and his collegues."

That day at the beach was a lot of fun, especially when they unexpectedly ran into Misaki and her friends. It was quite the night. Although this wasn't quite the same, it was still highly enjoyable.

He glances at the other soda before reaching over and taking it, "Since you're offering, thank you."

Chie lets go of the soda can once Ohjiro takes it. She looked towards the pool again and stretched.

"Yeah, you said something about your older brother. You must be really close"

He opened the soda before leaning back in his chair, "Yeah, you could say that."

He briefly thought back to the time that they weren't very close at all, but he got rid of those thoughts with the memories of recent years. And learning just how aloof that brother of his was.

Ohjiro chuckled, "Of course, even though he's the older one... I'd say I'm probably the more mature one."

"Sounds like a lot of guys his age" Cough, Yosuke, cough. "If I'm guessing his age right"

"My big brother?" Ohjiro looked over her, then gave a quiet chuckle. "He's 28. For being that old, he can be a bit of a child."

"Wow, I'm so far off. I was guessing he's around my age!"

"Oh, no. He's much older." Ohjiro laughed. He took a drink of his soda, briefly wondering himself what Chie's age was-- but it was rude to ask a lady her age.

"Do you have any siblings, Chie-san?"

"No, I'm by myself. It's both fun and a little sad"

He gives her a bit of a sympathetic smile. "I see. Well, if nothing else, you at least wouldn't have to put up with the teasing from your elder sibling."

He quietly laughed, thinking about the mutual teasing he and Ichiro got into sometimes.

"They can be quite a bit of trouble..."

"Yeah, that's what I've been telling myself when I was young. It can be boring in my town, and having no one close to play with can be a little lonely" That was why she was playing by herself by the riverbank when she met Yukiko with the puppy.

"But I guess friends could fill that role. I met my best friend when I was still very young. We're still best friends to this day" She couldn't help but smile at the memory of Yukiko. "She was actually here in the castle when I first arrived. But not long after that, the castle swept her away..."

His smile fades into a solemn look. He could understand how she felt to an extent. He didn't always have a brother, after all. Even then, their drastic age difference helped create a rift due to Ichiro's work at the time.

But the mention of her friend being at the castle for a short time, and then suddenly gone... people could come and go from this place that quickly?

"I'm sure you'll see her again. Whether she comes back or you're sent home."

"I know" Chie smiled. "I'm actually a lot happier that she's back home now where she's safe. This world can sometimes change into something else from time to time, and it's always dangerous. It's better that I go through with that instead of her. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I see her get hurt"

Strangely, the idea of a 'world change' didn't sound so odd anymore, given that he got plucked from his home and dropped off in a magic castle, but a look of concern comes to his face immediately when she mentions that it was 'dangerous'.

"The appearance of the castle is a façade?"

"I'm not sure. I've been here for months and I still don't fully get the deal of this place is. I just know that from time to time, the castle takes us somewhere, and there's always something crazy that would happen. What sucks is that we don't always have our powers!"

That was kind of unnerving. The fact she said she was there for months was one thing, but now this place suddenly had a dangerous streak? And apparently had the ability to take away the abilities that other people had?

"Is there a pattern to this at all?"

[pint_sized_carnivore]

"No, it just happens when it feels like it" Chie lowered her drink. She kinda lost her appetite now, and she feels bad for bringing this subject up. But if he's going to find out about it anyway, she just wishes he knew about it at a better time.

But this is also crucial information, so the sooner people know about this would be better. It doesn't help her feel better about it, but she chooses to listen to her pragmatic side for once.

Ohjiro only frowned. He wasn't sure what to think of this new information. And if it was really dangerous, well, it was only Wizard that did fighting before, not him. What in the world was Ohjiro himself supposed to do in those situations?

He stared off for a few moments before he looked back to Chie, managing to bring a faint smile back to his face.

"Maybe we should talk about this later. It doesn't make for a very good conversational topic at a party, does it?"

"Yeah. You're right. Sorry..." Chie faked a smile. She hasn't been exactly the same after the island. No one really notices it, but it hasn't been easy.

"You want to swim?" Chie stands up, taking her jacket off to reveal a two-piece bikini. She seems comfortable showing off like that in front of Ohjiro. His calm and formal demeanor is a lot like Souji's... Speaking of Souji, where is he? She got this two-piece for him, dammit!

He gave her a reassuring smile, "It's fine. I do appreciate the information."

Though he couldn't help but feel there might have been more to what she was saying... but it was best to ask about it later. They were here to relax and have fun, right?

When she stands, he'll get to his feet as well, looking over towards the pool. "Sure, it was on my agenda anyway."

Making sure he didn't knock over his drink, he'd pull off his t-shirt, tossing it on the chair. He started over to the pool, then looked over his shoulder at Chie.

"That swimsuit looks good on you, by the way."

"Uhhh, t-thanks?" Chie blushed at the compliment, while getting feelings of body image anxiety mixed in there. Her face turned bright red that she turned to look the other way, laughing anxiously. "L-Let's just go swimming okay?!" With her eyes closed shut and her face looking away, she accidentally (debatable) shoved Ohjiro into the water.

Ohjiro couldn't help but chuckle at the way she reacted (it WAS kind of cute, after all), but when he looked away from her, he didn't exactly expect to find himself getting shoved into the pool.

He gave a startled yell when he lost his balance, his fall immediately followed by a splash!

"Oh- Oh my god. Are you okay?! Sorrryyy~! Sheesh..." Not really.

When he resurfaced, he quickly shook his head and caught his breath. He looked back up at Chie calmly, letting out a bit of a nervous chuckle.

"You know, if I didn't know any better... I'd suspect that was done on purpose."

"Wha-? What made you think I would do that on purpose?!" Defensive as always. Yosuke would be grinning right now.

"And move out of the way. Go on, scooch!" she seems to be going for a cannonball.

"I don't know, a response like that just makes me suspect it more." Yosuke clearly wasn't the only one who would be grinning in this situation, because Ohjiro himself was certainly smiling.

Of course, he was able to figure out what she was about to do pretty quickly, so he was quick to move out of the way. It seemed like the safest course of action in this situation.
