Pretty accurate. That described rather well what he thought he was feeling. "I just." Urf. "Need a moment, Kenzi." One in which he did not move at all.

"Need a moment for wha--," the question was bitten off when she felt her thigh brush against something and looked down. Oh. Um... it hadn't looked that big before...

"Oh. Okay. Um, take a minute. Or three. Whatever."

He nodded rapidly, still not looking at her, looking everywhere in the room but her, oh look, he'd never noticed that cobweb up in the corner before...

He held up his finger again, then slowly added two more.

She stayed still, arms tucked tight to her sides as she tried not to move -- or stare. Reeeeally hard not to do both.

He was tapping the fingers of his free hand against his thigh now, as he was afraid to drop his other hand, still counting to three. He pursed his lips, then chewed on the bottom one, hoping the pain might prove a distraction.

After what seemed an interminable amount of time, he made a fist out of the hand hanging in the air between them, and with a final drawn out sigh of breath, extricated himself agonizingly carefully from her bed.

"I think we're done here."

She just nodded. Then she cleared her throat. "Um, you know... it happens, and stuff."

Not to him. Self-control was his middle name. Or it had been. Nothing made sense anymore.

"Mmmhmmm." He was just going to go curl up on his bed for a while. A few years at least, no big deal.

She sat on the edge of her bed, staring over at him. Aww... crapballs. "Dude, it's totally natural. I mean, that's what bodies do. With, uh, stimulation, and stuff."

He had his back to her, curled in on himself with his knees drawn up. The immediacy had passed, leaving only a dull urge in its wake. He really didn't want to hear any excuses or any feel-good platitudes. He held up his hand to ward off any more, waving it vaguely before lowering it again.

She didn't know how to deal with this. This was boy territory. She had a feeling that going over and trying to comfort him was just going to piss him off more, so she got up and found something to get dressed in.

"I'm going to go grab dinner. You, uh, want to come or should I bring something back?"

He wasn't angry, and certainly not at her. He was devastatingly embarrassed. He'd let her down. He'd let them both down. They were roommates, friends, nothing more. How could she trust him, now that this had happened? She'd made it clear she wouldn't be bringing anyone back to the room, but now she had to deal with the person already in the room. And now she was the one trying to make him feel better.

Dinner was the last thing on his mind. He waved at her again. "I don't need anything."

She let out a 'pff' and pulled on a pair of shoes. "I'm bringing you back something. You're not going to waste away just because you're emo'ing over getting some wood, Kitt. I'll bring you back a sub."

He wasn't emo and that wasn't why he was upset. He didn't think he could explain all of that to her, so there was no sense in trying. "Mmmf."

With luck he'd be asleep when she got back.

No such luck, Kittikins, because she got hers to go and came back up, tossing them gently on her bed, then tackling him and raving about trolls eating all the Sugar Pops.

She wound up leaning over his back, arm draped around him as she poked at his cheek with a finger. "Get up. You need to eat. Fuel, carface."

"Oonf." He had been been half-asleep. She was insane. Obviously. There was no other explanation for it. Trolls and Sugar Pops and tackling him? Crazy.

He turned his head to stare at her, looking her in the eye for the first time since. It would be officially burned into his mind forever now as The Incident, no notebook necessary for remembering.

"C'mon, carface. Food time. You probably haven't eaten much, and I'm not having my slave pass out on me." She moved back, tugging him with her. "Don't be mopey. People get turned on around friends all the time. Guys just can't hide it as well."

He was hungry. It wasn't until he smelled the food that it hit him, but he couldn't deny it now. He sighed, not resisting. He'd never win.

He rolled over, then sat up, hands folded in his lap, eyes directed at the floor. "I'm sure that's very comforting."

With a sigh, she decided it was time to take one for the team. "You know, I was kinda enjoying myself more than I should have, too." Patting his thigh, she got up and went to her bed, grabbing a sub and handing it over to him.

He took it from her, trying to gauge her sincerity, while he watched her. It was a nice thing to say, trying to make him feel better.

He broke off a piece of the sub, shoving it in his mouth and chewing slowly, more hungry than he'd thought. "I'm really sorry, Kenzi."

Giving him a smirk and letting her eyes linger over him, she said, "Trust me, Kitt, you don't have anything to be sorry for." That might have come out a bit less subtly than she'd intended, but... mmm.

Then she shook her head to clear it, sitting on her own bed and unwrapping her sub to start on.

"No, I mean for everything. Ever since I got here you've been taking care of me." He held up the sub. "Feeding me, showing me the way around, teaching me about this place, trying to get me involved in things, having to give up your privacy to accommodate me.. aren't you tired of babysitting me? And this is how I've repaid you. You were pretty adamant about not wanting to... 'hook up', did you call it? With anyone. I didn't mean to disrespect your wishes. I am so, so sorry."

Zoomed right over his head. Don't worry about subtle, Kenzi.

She picked off a piece of meat with her fingers, bringing it to her mouth as she thought about the best way to answer that. "Kitt, guys and girls who live together can have a weird dynamic. I mean, neither of us are ugly, and I know I'm a healthy individual in all ways. Hard not to notice what's right in front of you."

Taking another piece, she looked over at him. "No, I don't intend to hook up while I'm here, because I want to go home. But life has a way of totally screwing you over, so... who knows? I could wind up doing exactly that. And hey, at least this way I wouldn't get cockblocked by a succubus roomie, hmm?"

She was going to ignore all the other stuff, because, well, that was just being half-way decent.

"I want to go home too. That's never far from my thoughts." Everything else should have been a distraction. Sometimes distractions have a way of becoming more important than long-term goals. But she had said herself that they'd have to adapt, and life couldn't be put on hold just because they weren't where they wanted to be.

He shrugged, listening and chewing, paying most of his attention the the sandwich. "I still haven't taken a good look at myself. I want to remember myself the way I was." Hence the finger combing. But she was right - she certainly wasn't ugly. He noticed that, whether he wanted to or not.

He had to chuckle at that, still not quite looking at her. "You won't get... 'cockblocked' by me, either. I promise." It was the least he could do.

That didn't go unnoticed, either.

She'd taken a bite of her sub, giving him a pair of lifted brows at that. Setting it down on the wrapper, she chewed and got up, coming over and gesturing for him to put his sub down, tugging on him to join her.

"Well, come on, then. You need to scope yourself out properly, K-man. Otherwise, you're going to catch a glimpse in a mirror and punch it or something."

But... the sub was good! And he was hungry!

She always won.

"No more punching for me." He winced at the memory of the last time he'd punched something. His hand still wasn't healed up yet.

"Kenzi." He paused, placing a hand on her arm to stop her for a minute, wondering how to say this without sounding ridiculous. "Your succubus friend - Bo? You don't need her abilities."
