[Nightmares are never fun, no matter where you go. But things take a bit of a turn for the worse when you've jumped into the mind of a ninja. A ninja that can look into other people's heads, to be exact.

So which path will you pick?]

[Looking into the kitchen, it's pretty empty ... and also pretty messy. It looks like someone recently threw a bit of a super-powered tantrum in here, what with the holes in the wall, and the broken dishes and food spilled everywhere.

But more importantly, in the corner, Ino is huddled up, her knees pulled to her chest and her arms wrapped around her legs. Her face is in her knees as she sobs quietly. She looks an absolute mess, with dust and debris in her hair and on her clothes.

Will you approach her?]

[Of course he would. Even if she was surrounded by corpses and covered in blood he'd approach her. His long legs take him from the door to kneeling by her side very quickly, the expression of annoyance replaced with one of concern]

Ino? ...Ino what happened?

[ino]

[She definitely realizes he's there -- she shrinks away as soon as he approaches -- but she doesn't look up to greet him. In fact, hearing him talk seems to make her sobbing even louder.]

[whichwayyoulean]

[He hesitates, before putting a hand gently on her shoulder. This isn't right, something is very very wrong here. He softens his tone, trying to make it as reassuring as possible]

Hey, Ino, it's okay. It's me.

[ino]

[Sorry, Once-ler, but as soon as he touches her, she's slapping his hand away, pushing herself as far back into the corner as she can go. She looks at him, finally, but she just looks angry, possibly a little crazed, her cheeks wet with tears]

No! Stop!

[whichwayyoulean]

[He's confused, and stays where he is for a moment]

Ino...what's going on? And don't say nothing because it's pretty darn obvious that something is happening here.

[ino]

[She just buries her face in her knees again, pulling her legs closer to her chest]

I don't care if you're real, you're just going to leave me again anyways.

[whichwayyoulean]

[He gets up, moving towards her again, slowly and carefully, his hands held up in front of him to show he means no harm]

I'm not going anywhere, I promise. See? I'll stay right here.

[ino]

Liar ... !

[She tilts her head back to yell at the ceiling]

You can't fool me again! So just STOP IT!

[whichwayyoulean]

[He's sensing a little bit of crazy here. He edges forwards again, waving a hand carefully in front of her face]

Okay, what will it take to make you believe me?

[ino]

[she swats at his hand again, before burying her face in her hands. miserably:]

Stay. Just stay, and don't go.

[whichwayyoulean]

Okay, I can do that.

[He moves to sit beside her, resting his chin on his knees as he tilts his head to watch her]

See? Not going anywhere.

[ino]

[She's silent for a few moments, taking some shuddery breaths to calm down, and moving to clutch her journal to her chest. Finally she'll speak]

Why today?

[whichwayyoulean]

I don't know, I just found myself here. Whatever the reason, I'm glad I did.

[Who knows how long she's been here like this. Whatever the castle's been pulling, it's not good]

[ino]

But nobody's been here for years. And now today, there was already someone else ...

[whichwayyoulean]

It's like buses maybe. You wait all day for one and then two show up at once.

[He offers her a small smile] See? Still here.

[ino]

[Irritably:] It doesn't matter. You're going to leave, even if it's not right away. There's no point.

[whichwayyoulean]

[The Once-ler opts to shift position, leaning up against the sideboard, tipping his hat over his eyes a little and folding his arms behind his head]

Well, you're sure going to look dumb when it turns out I'm not going anywhere, won't you?

[ino]

[Okay, she really can't take this anymore. She stands up, bits of broken wall falling off her shoulders, and just kicks him in the side to make him fall over]

[whichwayyoulean]

[And fall over he does, in an ungainly heap of stupidly long limbs]

Okay ow. What was that for?

[ino]

Don't you get it?! I can't DO this! [she puts her hands to her head, pulling at her hair. she's practically screaming at him, at this point] I can't take another person leaving, not anymore! So just leave me the fuck alone, okay?!

[ino]

[... she stops, crouching down again, hiding her face in her hands again because she feels the tears coming on again. if you thought she looked small before, she looks even smaller now, curled in on herself.

yeaaahhh .... if it wasn't obvious she's cray cray yet ... welp.]

Just leave me alone.

[whichwayyoulean]

[Yep, it's very clear she's crazy now. The Once-ler stops fooling around and sits up again. Okay he's not good at the hugging thing, but now he'll carefully pull her into his arms, soothing her back]

Hey, shhh. I'm not going to leave okay? I absolutely promise you.

[ino]

[She's honestly too tired to fight back, anymore -- and she's missed being held by someone so much. She tenses at first, but then she just sort of slumps into him, sniffling into his jacket]

[He gives her a gentle squeeze, not entirely sure if this was the best way to comfort her or not. But hey, at least she's stopped yelling]

It'll be okay, Ino.

[His heart aches for her, it really does. He may have resigned himself to a fate of being alone for a good portion of the rest of his life, but Ino? No way. She needed and deserved to have people around her. She didn't deserve this. Not at all]
