"All right. I believe you." He paused. "I don't know who Fred is." A potential boyfriend, maybe? It didn't bother him. Not one bit.

"Maybe I should set up shop in here. On my side of the room, of course."

"Fred's awesome. Free booze. Stuff."

She rumbled into the bed, cracking another eye open at that. "Nuh uh. I'm not sharing you with half the damn castle. Well, not for two weeks, anyway."

His hand slipped, his elbow jamming into her back at the mention of this 'Fred' and 'free booze'. "Sorry." He rubbed the heel of his hand where he'd jabbed her, trying to soothe it away.

"After two weeks then. I'll need to make money somehow if I'm not allowed to wish for anything."

"Ow," she turned, frowning. "What was that for?"

Head back on her hands, she grumbled, "You can wish for whatever you want. I'm just not going to. And apparently there's plenty of places to work. You're not doing it rubbing people."

"I said I was sorry. My hand slipped. I told you I've never done this before." Maybe this 'Fred' could do a better job.

... What was that, and where was it coming from? Good grief.

"If you're not going to, what makes you think I would? There must be a reason not to, right? I've already told you, the only work I know how to do is law enforcement, and like this I don't think I'd be very good at it."

She bit back a grin at that. Law enforcement. Right. "Well, I dunno. Maybe they have some kind of 'Castle Cops' or something."

Wriggling slightly, she tipped her head to the side a bit, hoping he'd get up near her neck.

"I can't imagine there'd be much of a need for it anyway." So he'd have to learn how to do something else. What had she said earlier? Adapt.

He got the message, leaning over her to reach her neck, digging his fingers in.

"I dunno. People that are snagged here aren't all saints, Kitt." Proof by her being here.

There was a definite groan of approval, turning into something close to a sigh at the tender muscles being manipulated.

"I didn't see any jails on the tour, did you?" He shrugged. Maybe it wasn't his business to get into.

He smiled at the sound, despite himself. She liked it; he was doing a good job. He was pleased on both counts.

"Maybe they're not available to people like me. You know... a civvie?" She'd been around Hale and Dyson too long.

Oh, she more than liked it. She knew for a fact that Kitt was going to spend the majority of the two weeks she owned him doing this and other things. Like cuddling. She missed cuddling.

"Mmmhmm." That must be it. If that was the case, he must be a... 'civvie', too. Maybe he was, now.

It was the deal they'd made. He'd lost, fair and square. Perhaps he should have clarified what exactly the terms were, but it was too late to go back on it now. He stood to go over to the other side of the bed, starting in on the other side of her neck. He was beginning to get some sore muscles of his own - maybe a bath wouldn't be such a bad idea for himself when he was finished. Without the bubbles.

She was getting drowsy, the bath, the wine, and the rubbing doing all the perfect things to make her tired. When he moved, she tugged him down, much like he had that first night. Her arm snuck around his waist and she curled up against him.

"Mmm."

He wasn't sure if this was part of the deal or not. More than likely the alcohol was catching up with her. "Kenzi." His voice held a touch of warning. "I'm still on your side of the room."

"Oh, shush. We cuddled your first night here." She snuggled in closer. She wasn't drunk, just... happy. As happy as she could be, given the circumstances.

"That was different. I didn't expect you to keep doing it. I would never ask that of you." She was snuggling in, he was trying to put a bit of distance between them. For the sake of comfort. And modesty.

"Not gonna keep doing it. Just doing it now. You're warm and comfy." She tugged him closer, grumping slightly when he kept trying to move away.

"And sore. I should take a shower. I smell like carnival." He supposed he could stay until she fell asleep?

"You smell good. Like summertime." Her voice was quieter as she rested her head by his shoulder.

That was new. He didn't know what summertime smelled like, but if she liked it, it couldn't be too terrible. "I could stay for a while longer. On your side of the room., that is."

"Mmhmm," she hummed, settling in because obviously, that was that. Her hand was tangled in his shirt, and she was tucked as closely as she could manage. She was seeking comfort, and he was the only person around she knew to look for it from.

He wasn't tired. No, that wasn't right. He was tired. He wasn't sleepy. He still wasn't very good at recognizing the differences. After she was asleep, he'd steal away from her bed for the shower he was starting to long for. After that... he'd go sleep in his own bed. But for now, he'd be here for her, for as long as she needed him.

She'd fall asleep to the steady beat of his heart, hand resting over it on his chest as she slipping into slumber with a smile on her face.

Once he knew she was asleep, he slipped away from her bed, claiming the bathroom for his shower. He could see why humans liked it so much - it was a luxurious feeling to have the water sloshing over him, soap in his hair, the feeling of rinsing away the grime of the day. As a car he'd gotten thoroughly cleaned maybe once or twice a month. This? This was akin to heaven.

He stepped out and toweled off, peeking his head around the door just long enough to make sure she was still asleep before padding out into the room to grab his pajamas. He was getting forgetful in his humanity. And yes, he wore underwear to bed, under his PJ bottoms, thank you very much. Except he wasn't going to sleep. He still had an uneasy relationship with the entire concept. He'd sleep when he absolutely could not stay awake any longer, and not one minute before.

He didn't need the volume to be able to play more of the game, so he switched it off, using his imagination to fill in the sounds of his targets being taken down, trying not to be too loud in his victory celebrations.

He fell asleep on the couch with the controller still in his hands.

She never was an early riser, per se, but she'd zonked out early enough that she was up before noon - for once. Her hand moved to find the warmth she'd fallen asleep with, frowning when it wasn't there. That pulled her up out of sleep, wondering what she was missing. Rubbing her eyes, she half-pushed herself up, looking around the room. Right. Kitt lived with her now. And he'd fallen asleep here-- only... he wasn't here.

Looking over, she saw he wasn't in his bed, either. Well, that was enough to have her getting out of bed and sleepily shambling over, just in case he'd fallen off the other side. Nope.

The tv was on, though, and she went over, looking down and smirking when she saw him passed out on the couch, mouth open and legs splayed. It was a shame he could be such a dink sometimes, because standing there ogling him, she had to admit he was kinda hot.

He'd be horrified if he knew it was past noon. Unlike her, he was an early riser - though admittedly that was easier to do when one didn't need to sleep. But he'd always considered anyone who slept past the morning hours to be unnecessarily slothful. For it to be him was bordering on unforgivable.

Fortunately, he was out cold and uncaring of the hour.

Or the ogling.
